!!!New kit has arrived!!! Finally the old worn out elliptical trainers have been replaced with new ones. The rowing machines have also been replaced, not sure they would have been at the top of my list, but they were done first. Hopefully the treadmills and bikes will be on the list soon. The age of the kit is starting to show, most of the elliptical trainers are broken and those which work, creak. There is an increase in the groups of kids, some of which are still in their school uniforms, who I doubt complies with the minimum age policy. The problem is that the train in large groups making it difficult to use the kit they occupy. I would also be concerned about the risk they pose to themselves, as I doubt they’ve had a proper induction, which may cause also issues with insurance policy. This cross trainer just fell apart whilst I was using it! Luckily I wasn’t hurt, but the equipment it in dire need of attention. I feel sorry for the staff, the ones I have spoken to are really nice, but they are forced to train their customer on substandard equipment. If one of their clients were to be injured, who would compensate them both?
Good gym if you want to get your steps in walking around trying to find the weights , like a game of hide and seek , Plus if you like the smell of death use the disabled toilet when the gym is unstaffed , reminds me of that scene in SEVEN the film when the guy has been strapped to the bed
The gym equipment is good & staff are friendly but the women’s showers are absolutely disgusting. The smell is horrendous in there, the drains were all blocked. None of the showers worked I had to try 5 different showers all of which had the same issues, they were either boiling hot or freezing cold. They would only stay on for about 3 seconds so I had to keep pressing the button over and over again. Please sort this facility out PureGym as other than the changing rooms and showers, this is a decent gym.
Friendly atmosphere and good range of equipment. However it’s very cold the air con is way too high wasnt like that when I first started so think it’s an issue that they need to look at. I seen members working out in coats which isn’t ideal conditions to work out. The showers fluctuate between hot and cold and it’s freezing in the changing rooms and they stay on for about three seconds. Looks like they don’t want their clients to shower there
Because it's open 24 hours a day - everything is so clean and there's plenty of space for us to workout, I never feel uncomfortable. Staff members are very friendly. I took a lot of classes and I loved it.
Since changing your classes to 45 minutes barely anyone attends. I think these need to be changed back to 30 minutes. I have attended a lot of times for the class to be cancelled due to not enough people, which wastes our time and money.
Just notify customers when you plan on restricitng rhe access for a gym they are paying for. Gyms closed with no notifications unless you turn up and find out yourself. Staff inside just stare at you or pretend your not at the door waiting instead of informing you the gyms shut etc whilst you stand outside in the cold. Gyms become a joke. With so many other gyms close by with better benefits and communication.
PureGym customer services said they only give promotional offers to selected members. My husband is offered a promotional offer when I enquired they told me nope you can’t have one! Is this not equality discrimination for their customers. Is this even lawful !?!
Been at the gym about a year most of the time people are constantly on their phones sitting on the machines reading fb ect not working out ..nothing gets done about it... constantly groups of kids messing around in there some dont even look old enough .... weights are left everywhere by people... sometimes I can get a good workout in there...there is plenty of machines to help you . Just a shame the minority of people ruin the gym by messing around on their phones
Pure Gym is really the budget option whatever your fitness goals are and it has everything you need. Open 24 hours with easy parking. Very friendly staff on hand for advice and everyone made to feel welcome. A range of classes available including spin and a separate weights area. Plenty of cardio and resistance equipment available. Changing rooms are clean and there’s lockers for storage. Well laid out gym on two floors with space to workout in.
