Story

Welcome to Priory Cafe, a friendly and comfortable cafe tucked away on Percy Park road near the coast of Tynemouth! We're open 7 days a week and offer heart warming, home cooked food.

We offer a range of all-day breakfasts, light lunch options including freshly made panini's and salads and we're famous for our homemade fruit and cheese scones which we bake every morning! Make sure you check out our special's board which changes daily and if you're around Tynemouth on a Sunday make sure you pop in for our tasty Sunday Lunch!

We also offer free Wifi services to any of our customers. Simply ask one of our friendly staff for the password!

Disappointed with our visit today. Waited nearly 30-40 minutes for 2 orders of Welsh Rarebit and Chips and people who had ordered main meals after us got served before us. When the food eventually turned up the Welsh Rarebit was warm. Nice but not hot as I would have expected after a 30-40 minute wait.

This place is a hidden gem. We went all along the high street in Tynemouth trying to find somewhere that had not recently been done up and was not too extortionate and eventually came across this place round a side street. FANTASTIC! Excellent food; great atmosphere and decor; a huge pot of tea for two and great vegetarian all day breakfasts. To cap it all off ... this was on a Sunday!

Lovely cafe and coffee shop serving lovely home made food. An original gem in Tynemouth Village and one that is yet to fall for the new yuppie styling of the new Tynemouth Village. If you want unpretentious dining this is definitely a great option.
