Day trip out to the coast so decided to have fish and chips for lunch. This was nice discovery. Located in the middle of the town of Tynemouth it serves fresh fried fish with good selection of sides. I had the Haddock. A very nice touch is the board showing where the fish and potatoes are sourced from including names of fisherman and farmers!
Second time here and had haddock and chips for £11. The portion is alright. Overall their fish and chips are one of the better ones even though I would've hoped that there's more tables for people to dine in.
Keen to try the award winning Fish and Chip restaurant and take away on Hotspur St Tynemouth. We didn't have a reservation but the staff kindly found us a space and spot for an hour in between bookings. The Haddock and Cod were cooked to perfection, so fresh and crispy.nThere is a takeaway section at the front on the corner and a seating area at the back with a bar.nI particularly loved the curry sauce and gravy containers.nUsually takeaway curry sauce can look a bit orange and clumpy but this had something a bit more sophisticated in a darker creamier taste and texture.nThankyou to Lilly for her customer service today.
We very much enjoyed our fish & chips with curry sauce and mushy peas. It was a busy Friday evening but service was swift, efficient and friendly. We are used to haddock mainly so it was nice to try cod and cod bites for a change. We are also from the part of the country where curry sauce isn't common but it didn't take us long to become fans! The batter was particularly lovely and crispy
Managed to get a seat without booking but can imagine this will not always be the case. Ordered fish and chips from the menu, which is cooked in the fryers from the joining takeaway, which serves some of the same menu items, too. They have gluten-free options for most of thier dishes.
