The hotel was in a good location away from the main road and had a small orchard adjacent. There are frequent busses into the city centre that run quite late too. If you are visiting the main hospital, which is next door then this would be ideal. It is a little far for walking into town though and if you are not careful you can miss the turnoff into the carpark.nnThe breakfast area is next to reception as you walk in the main doors. It's quite a dark area though and a little smaller than most premier inns. Our receptionist must have pulled a double shift as he was there in the afternoon and 1st thing in the morning yet still was very pleasant and witty.nnOur room was clean, with extra pillows above the storage area. The bathroom was also clean and the shower had plenty pressure and quickly adjustable hot water. Not like some places where it can be a pain to get the temperature right.nnIf you want any sort of a view for the morning ask for a front facing room. It's only of the trees around the driveway but it's pleasant and quiet enough
We stayed here in a Premier Plus room. The location was just outside the city centre and room was lovely and dark at night and the bed was super comfy which helped with a good night's sleep after exploring York. Breakfast was tasty and staff were helpful and friendly. Parking went smoothly, there is plenty for both the pub across the forecourt and the hotel. Only a couple issues- the fan in the bathroom wasn't working so it was a quick dash out after showering to make sure the steam didn't set off the alarm in the room. And the lamp on the desk seemed to have a broken button. Other than that the room was clean and tidy and a great base to come back to after spending a day out and about.
Ideally placed on a park and ride route around 10 mins journey in to town. Lovely staff and clean and tidy rooms. The air freshener in the hallway needs dialing down as it really strangles your throat but other than that can't knock it.
The room I stayed in was so tired, yellowing sink, old shower tray, just all a bit manky to be honest. I used to think you could depend on Premier Inn, but after the last couple I’m starting to change my mind.
Perfect for visiting York. Anya on reception was fantastic, friendly and helpful. Room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was good, plenty to choose from. The Dormouse across the car park provides food and drinks, and I can recommend this too.
