Fantastic roast dinner. Beef cooked spot on - nice and pink throughout. My dog was happy with the log fire to keep him warm after his walk.

We love this place. Great food, great service. We always reserve a table in the bar with the   cosy open fire. I constantly recommend it to others.

I went in here in the 90s and if you have been running it for 27 years I'm not surprised you got a bad review. When I came in the beer was twice the price elsewhere, unfriendly staff who preferred to serve & chat to the locals instead of serving everyone. Haven't been back since & judging by the way you slagged off the bad review {instead of learning from it) I never will

Lovely stay with our two dogs. Dog friendly really means dog friendly. Quiet, peaceful, spotless, authentic old pub. Great food and service and incredible breakfast and dinner. We will be back

we booked a large classic room, but not sure this was so,(room 1), very small bathroom, bath panel damaged, razor socket and towel rail did not work, no character and very cheap  furniture, nothing like the description and picture on their website.  On the plus side, the evening meals were fantastic.
