Very convenient location. Everything Northampton has to offer (not much, don't get overexcited) is within walking distance. It's a new hotel and you can feel it. No free parking, £2 every time you drive out of the nearby car park. The check-in is done by a machine. It's very busy on weekdays. Book your room well in advance or you will sleep far away from town centre.

We turned up as a rugby tour of fifty adults and nine year old kids. They coped and did so in a cheerful manner. Well done. Very well done. Otherwise, it's a Purple Palace, which means comfy beds and a decent breakfast for very sensible money. Staff were brilliant.

I joined others who had stayed the night for Breakfast. The choice is between a continental breakfast, or a full breakfast which includes a cooked breakfast and anything from the continental menu. The food was very speedily brought to us, and there was a good range of food on offer, including pastries, cereal and fruit. Unlimited tea and coffee went down very well too!

This Premier is well placed for access the town centre which is a 8 minute walk depending where you are going. It is situated in the cultural quarter which is a nice clean area. There is a car park next door which is cheap, and Premier Inn give you discount on top of that. Without discount it is £2 All day Sat & Sun, and £1 overnight; so £5 All weekend less your discount. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. They have some outside seating for smokers and a drink. There is the on site restaurant for breakfast and evening meals. All good. Breakfast has gone up again to £9.50 mind. The place is clean, the rooms clean. They have the latest flat screen TV with an input panel for your multimedia devices set into the wall. Sockets next to the bed for phone charging etc. There is desk space and chair. Coffee making facility. It was a hit day when I checked in and the room was stifling with no opening window. I switched the AC on but obviously it takes ages for it to catch up. What made it worse was the fact that due to poor maintenance the filter was blocked so there was no airflow. This is was accessible through the return air grille so I had to clean it. All in all a great place, and it was £56 for the night. The Park Inn wanted £146 which definitely is not £90 better! Would have got 5* if not for the AC. Another small gripe is there is a full length mirror in the entrance lobby but the light is so poor in there- you can hardly see.

It's a Premier Inn, so it's decent value and you'll sleep well. This lot coped with a 50+ group of parents and 9yo kids on a rugby tour and were brilliant. It was bedlam, but they were superb.
