The receptionist was absolutely brilliant, she couldn’t of done more for us. Our daughter uses a wheelchair but we hadn’t booked an accessible room. We were assigned, by the system, a room on the first floor but the receptionist swapped our room and reconfigured both rooms; the original back to a double, the new room to a family room. A hotel is only as good as its staff and Newark has really good staff Food & drinks: Breakfast was an unexpected benefit, it’s a shame Whitbread are closing the restaurants.
A pleasant stay and the Beafeater next door was excellent for our evening meal. Breakfast was a little disappointing as they no longer provide a 'cold meats and cheese' selection. However, the usual hot breakfast was well cooked and tasty. The scrambled egg and hash browns could have been hotter though.Rooms: 4/5
I booked this Premier Inn because of it's proximity to Newark showground as this was a work trip. The rooms are top price the night before Newark Antique Fair but conveniently situated. First issue no wifi I spoke to the staff member at reception they suggested I stand outside my room in the corridor, needless to say this did not work and I had no wifi for the duration of my stay. The rooms are tired, the beds not the best, breakfast was very nice as were the staff in the restaurant. I have contacted customer relations regarding this over a month ago, they have not addressed my issues. Would I return no, would I recommend no. This was my worst premier inn experience out of years of staying with them.
The whole place is a bit tired and in need of a refresh. I found the lack of a walk-in shower awkward as the over bath arrangement was very slippy. There was no non-slip mat.Rooms: 3/5
I booked this Premier Inn because of its proximity to Southwell Racecourse. Great little site. Next to a Beefeater & Macdonalds. Good parking on site. Our room was a little tired. The carpet was stained and there was a big cobweb on the ceiling in the corner of the room. Neither of things spoiled our stay because as expected from a Premier Inn the bed was fantastic and comfy. The staff at reception were cheery,polite and helpful. We will be back
Location ok check in slow was early hours of the morning after a full day wedding with 2 young children. Room tidy but bathroom unclean and bed horribly uncomfortable. Bed near window sheets wasn’t pleasant the smell my son said smelt of urine, daughters bed pop up bed rock hard cried hardly got any sleep wanted to go home. Bed for parents was stupidly high and uncomfortable won’t stay again but if no choice anywhere else I’ll bring this up with staff Rooms: Expensive as all premier inns room horrible needs clean fresh sheets and clean the bathroom pop up be something better
Aweful huge que to check in, one person on reception, same is resteraunt! Told by staff its always like this ..... very poor management when fully booked and at peak times should have more staff on. Feel sorry for the staff who do their best and are very proffesionsl. Will not stay here again.........Rooms: 1/5
Fantastic place for holidays and food!!! Ladies at the Reception were over the top kind and helpful! Everything else was very good! Highly recommended Food & drinks: Great food and staff very helpful, professional and efficient!!! Must try their food, it was exceptional.
Just booked into Newark for 4 nights. The Genie electric charger in carpark is broken. Receptionist informed us it will be about 8 months to repair!! Room on 1st floor looks okay but no lift. Should be clearly stated when someone books a room. We will be looking for alternative stopping place next time. Noteworthy details: These days clients need to charge their cars. If you need one check first!
Avoid as they will mess up your car parking and you will get a fine. Hotel is fine but if you are driving be ready to receive a penalty notice when they don't process your car vehicle registration. Good location and clean.Rooms: 5/5
