A Premier Inn where you're not standing around unattended at check-in for 5-10 minutes at a time is a rarity these days. A good start. Room was comfortable though it was a link room so lots of noise overspill from my neighbour. Shower was powerful but terrible fluctuation in temperature. Didn't eat in the restaurant but there are other options available a short walk away. Parking is via a private company with a terrible reputation, but I had no issues paying for parking within the 5 minute slot from entry.
We were booked in at the Premier Inn Darlington on a deal. £34 for the room on a Friday which is great value. You know what you get which are clean rooms and clean bedding. Stayed here on a number of times when we are booked into music events at the theatre.
Stayed here for one night on the 12th of September. The building is fairly new and clean. The rooms as usual were very clean. The hotel is in an excellent location, however parking isn't free. So bear that in mind if this could be an issue. The staff who were in on the night when we arrived were lovely and really helpful. Tea service was very nice and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming.nnBut then came breakfast. We came down around half past 9. So with plenty of time to have a nice breakfast. Unfortunately, the member of staff who was running the breakfast service couldn't have been more useless. All she was interested in, was talking to two families I can only presume she knew personally. There were no plates, no pastries left. The milk had ran out for the cereal. Was any of this filled or replaced while we were there? Nope. The woman who was working, didn't fill or replace any items that were missing. We tried to catch her attention, but she was too pre occupied having a good gossip with a family she obviously knew.nnIn the end we gave up and walked away not at all impressed with the service. There was still about 50 minutes left of breakfast, and unless you wanted something hot. There were literally no other options. As everything else was empty. No bread, no milk, no pastries. Nothing has been refilled and no small plates available to put things on anyway. Very disappointed. I've not seen someone so disinterested in doing their job in a long time. What a shame.
just back from two nights stay here at £228 not including breakfast is very pricey breakfast for 6 people was £65nBreakfast had to wait few mins for milk and hot things prepared. Which is finenThe rooms however are fab nice and clean comfortable bed fresh towels on arrival .However the smell coming from the toilets was horrible these need to be checked more regular because soon as you enter hotel you can smell pee/poo its not pleasant
What’s not to love about a premier inn. You know what you’re getting if you’ve ever stayed in one before. Clean, familiar and spacious. The location is very accessible and the price is great. Definitely recommend.
