Lovely Hotel, in a relatively quiet area. Staff were very friendly. The food was quite good overall. I was disappointed with the range of beers on tap in the bar. Overall I spent a very pleasant weekend here, and will come again.
We used the hotels gift voucher given to us by our friends for 2 set price Sunday lunch meals , our booking reference clearly stated and confirmed the set price each for the meal.nTo our astonishment, After our meal we were told upon leaving that we would have to pay more “as the price had gone up !”nBy comparison this is rather like being in the supermarket and putting items clearly marked on the shelf at a set price into your basket, but then when you go to the checkout are asked to pay 10% more “because it’s gone up !” While we paid the extra money, we thought that this was very sharp practice by the hotel, who should have honoured their gift voucher for the set price meals they sold to our friends at their stated price .nfeeling somewhat aggrieved when we arrived home I rang this hotel and asked to speak to the manager, and was told they would not be available until Tuesday this was SundaynI then followed this up with an email to the hotel about the matter and after a few days without a reply, I sent a further email and this has also been ignored.nAny reader of the above can draw their own conclusions about this hotel,nit is most definitely a sad reflection of the hotel and its owner of how this place is run in our opinion -AVOID !!
Lovely hotel and a brilliant location just a quick walk to the town centre. Booked this last minute in the early hours of the morning, having been unable to get a taxi home. Nice comfy beds and a lovely breakfast the next morning. We also made use of the spa however i totally forgot that this was not on site and is a good 10-minute walk away across town. Nice friendly staff.
I needed somewhere to stay on my trip up to Scotland so booked this.nnI've marked two stars for service purely because the welcome from the receptionist was dire. Didn't acknowledge my arrival, no smile, purely transactional.nnHad a nice chat with a different member of staff the following day and the breakfast staff were fine.nnDidn't see anyone on check-out.nnThe room was lovely but way too hot at night. They had two fans in it which was a clue so when the sun is shining which it was, you need to small fan on large fan too noisy.nnLocation was great for a walk into town for supper/dinner/a drink.
This is a lovely hotel with nice comfortable rooms and the food is excellent but the best thing about it is the staff. From the housekeeper's to the bar and restaurant staff they couldn't do more for you,they are friendly, professional and very helpful. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
