The room was fine. Nice to have extra pillows, but the bed did not seem as good as the Hipnos mattress the let down was the Breakfast not very inviting and Cold cold cold had to ask for it to be microwaved the young lady was very helpful
I've stayed here a few times over the years and this time I was really disappointed. Check in time is 3pm but the restaurant doesn't open until 6pm so make sure to have lunch before arrival. The WiFi is shocking and no signal for 4g unless you walk up the hill. After asking the reception he said it was a recent problem but after looking at the reviews it's been going on for months! The beds where clean and comfy. The bathroom had some strange splat mark behind the door but otherwise clean. The restaurant staff where polite and helpful and the breakfast selection was brilliant. The car park needs a good clean, broken glass on the floor and leaves everywhere. It's honestly such a shame to see this place a shadow of its former self. Would I stay again? Probably not!
Stayed here December 2024, and based on our stay in the exact same hotel in December 2023; it has really gone downhill.nRoom was freezing, the window was open upon our arrival, the room still stinking of smoke; whether that was the previous occupants or the cleaners.nThe carpets weren’t very clean, got the children to keep their socks on that night. Rubbish under the bed that must have been missed.nBathroom was really tired looking, large areas of paint scuffs in the bedroom/living part.nIt just didn’t look like how Premier Inns used to look, they were always a bit more upmarket than a Travelodge, but on this instance, it was very much like a Travelodge.
Rooms weren't clean and smelled of vomit. Had to use our expensive aftershave and perfume to cover up the smell!Pillow dirtysee photo.Next morning went down for prepaid breakfast only to be abruptly told there was no breakfast.Apparently a power cut. This was a lie as the rest of the property had power including the kitchen as far as we could see.I believe the chef didn't turn up.The member of staff did not even apologise and couldn't care less!
The hotel itself was exactly what a Premier Inn should be. It’s not luxurious but the rooms are large and spotlessly clean and the beds are comfortable. The duty manager welcomed us warmly. HOWEVER, breakfast was a disaster. The first day they had a “power surge” in the kitchen and wouldn’t even allow us to have a cold continental breakfast. The second day, breakfast was slow coming and when it arrived the fried eggs were overcooked, the bacon was like cardboard and the sausages cheap to the point of being an embarrassment.
