Story

Frequented by Royals, scallywags, urchins, beggars, scarlet ladies, drunkards, intellectuals, popular musicians of the day and the occasional association football player. In recent years we have been the proud and humble recipients of the Class Best Bar and The Gregor DeGruyther Good Time Award.

Here’s to another 270 years of responsible drinking. Cheers, Salut, Skål and Nazdrowie.

Great pub in a great location. The staff was amazing and honest. After a night out with pals, I left my wallet behind after it fell into a seat crevice...to my astonishment, the restaurant staff had found my business card, called me and left me an email and then proceeded to return my wallet with all of the cash and credit cards in tact! A great relief and incredibly appreciated! A huge thank you to Timmy for being so honest and returning my wallet to me!!!
A really nice chilled out bar to go to especially when it’s 2-4-1 during happy hour. Staff are friendly and lovely cocktails too. Nice little place for a cheeky cocktail! It was a bit quiet if you’re going on a Tuesday night like we did but it meant we could have a conversation and hear each other.
26 people work do on a Friday night and the team at the Portobello Star absolutely smashed it. Lovely cocktails at a very competitive price. Top margarita's and frozen Pina Colada's, we only tried the chips on the food front but they were delicious. Would definitely recommend for groups big or small but cannot promise you won't have a hangover the next day - drink responsibly.

Fantastic experience at the Portobello Star. Great selection and knowledge, friendly atmosphere and wonderfully crafted drinks. The prices were not extortionate by any stretch for the quality on offer. Left to go somewhere else and ended up back for more an hour later.
We tried 3 different cocktails, all of them were great! The prices are quite high, around 10£ for a cocktail, so come during the happy hours at 4pm.
Great Music...Once they put on an Hendrix's song that blew my mind...nice cheecks around. .I never pay for a drink..Some pics 4 ya..
Delice de Paris .. A little gem in Portobello, delicous cakes freshly baked onsite. Beautiful decor felling like your in Paris suburbs. Friendly staff

Very nice Friday evening. Nice environment and lovely staff. if you go before 9 you pay one and you get another one for free.
