I had the pleasure of staying at Portland house along with 18 of my nearest and dearest ladies for my hen weekend in June 2017. Wow, what a house! The house itself is absolutely beautiful. All of the rooms are decorated to a high standard and are very spacious. All bar one of the bedrooms have an en-suite and the house easily accommodated all 19 of us. It didn’t take us very long to feel right at home. The garden was stunning and provided the backdrop for many of our photographs! Luckily we were blessed with fabulous weather too. We found the location to be ideal with amenities close by and easy access to local towns for shopping etc. On arrival at the house we found a most delicious cake had been left for us along with a ‘starter pack’ of kitchen items to get us going. The kitchen itself was very well equipped with everything we needed to prepare and eat our buffet. Both Jenny and John were very responsive and helpful, keeping in touch with us before and during our stay. Overall we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Portland house. Every single one of us would highly recommend it and we are already talking about returning next year!

We stayed here Christmas 2016. It was a nice house but it is in need of some updating. The water pressure in all the showers was very poor. When we arrived the heating was off and had been off for days so the house was bitterly cold. It took a good 24 hours to heat up. The overall decoration of the house needs updating, pictures not hung correctly, mold on the 3rd floor, old mattresses. There was only one small basket of wood and no coal, this was a bit on the mean side as we paid over $3000 for 5 nights. Overall we liked the house but it needs some major renovation

This is now a House to use as self catering accommodation and it's perfect for our multi-generational family get-togethers. Couldn't rate it highly enough. Gorgeous building and a treat to have such a house to ourselves.
