We had a family gathering here for a Sunday Roast dinner. The staff couldn't have been more attentive, and there was a lot of us to cater for! They were very cheerful. The food was excellent and plenty of it! We all had a great time. Thank you.
Absolutely fantastic pub, feels like a country pub but amazingly it is in the centre of Bristol. Great staff, lovely food, fantastic cask beer, log fires, nice garden. Best pub in Bristol in my opinion and luckily it is my local!
Great backstreet pub with welcoming staff, good selection of beers and wines, and an amazing roast. The Christmas Dinner is on at the moment and it's great, some of the best food in Bristol, definitely book!!
Last minute booking! Josh was super lovely, as were all the staff! I’m very fussy about having a Sunday roast out…..but they did not disappoint…best roast I’ve ever eaten out! Amazing faultless Thanks x
A small cozy pub, always a great ale selection. Their pub snacks are great. The good served is fresh and tasty, their pizza is delicious.
Brilliant local pub, especially if you like me try to avoid the chains. From other comments I'm getting the impression the place was "tarted up" recently but, as visitors, we thought it had great atmosphere, and was clean and bright without being too "modern." Food was absolutely first-rate - especially the scotch eggs, and staff were friendly, even to us tourists.
Great little boozer. Good choice drinks. Lovely sun trap of a beer garden. Staff really friendly and an asset to the place
Friendly staff, rubbish food. Went for Sunday lunch this pub used to have the best I've ever tasty outside of home under previous ownership Generous amount of food but everything on plate was tasteless except it was smothered in horrible packet-tasting gravy. Great to get enough gravy but made everything taste of it and it wasn't nice. The only other flavour on plate was some weird spicing in the pickled red cabbage which has no place in a British roast dinner.. where has that come from?. This weird over fragrant spicing also flavoured neighbouring vegetables, euch! Plenty of green veg and various which is good but all flavourless, even the Yorkshire pudding was flavourless, I can't even imagine how that was achieved, I've never had a dull Yorkshire pudding before. But even these things.. flavourless vegetables, weird fragrances, disgusting gravy... could be forgiven were it not for the fact that, sin of all sins... The roasties were soggy!!! Looked like they had never been crunchy and were drowned in the artificial tasting gravy. All this is a surprise as this pub has been taken over by the king's arms people opposite and the food there is really really good. We sat in the lovely garden on a lovely warm day with refreshing drinks and a distant view of Ashton Court and enjoyed the whole experience, but it was spoilt by really rubbish food and we sadly won't be going there for Sunday lunch again :-
Hip young crew do tasty home-made pasty things, bar snacks and famous pizzas plus well kept fine ales and a variety of wines.
Very cosy little pub with friendly staff and a good choice on tap. Met up here with fellow students and the vibe with the candles in the evening was lovely.
