A category "A" listed building in the Scottish Renaissance style and opened on the 7th of December 1898 by Sir John Stirling Maxwell of Pollok House. Great architecture with the tower meant to be similar to that of the old Glasgow College on High Street. Certainly worth a visit to see up close.
This is a beautiful venue, I was here for a 1 day convention and the room’s decor is lovely, and fancy. it has a big stage and chairs, theatre style, I had microphones, lighting etc…. It doubled up as a dance in the evening, it’s nearly local amenities and there is parking
We were there for a family event, a late celebration of my niece's wedding which happened during Covid. It's a beautiful building with a fantastic hall, the dance floor is properly sprung. The amenities are all clean and well-tended. A really enjoyable experience.
As a DJ and entertainer I always enjoy playing this venue its a great size for a wedding or family function. And Tommy & Jean the hall keepers do a great job of keeping thing running smoothly. It ticks all the boxes for me.
Lovely venue, a bit if a hidden gem. Beautiful building on the outside, and a nice set up inside. Made use of the huge built in screen for our event. For small dinners upto 100 people and theatre style for upto 150 people, it's a great value for money venue to use!
This hall is quite good for small get together.Hall can be used for small community party , festival ...spacious , rest room was clean and tidy ...well maintained
I attended a family wedding event on Sunday In July. I had no parked in the car park and entered my car details on touch screen with no one to help you if any issues as it's free if you attending an event. A few weeks later I receive a demanding letter asking to pay £100 and a reduced payment of £60 which I appealed as clearly there was issues with their touch screen explaining the above with evidence and got a response ignoring everything I had mentioned and said they would be happy to offer a reduced payment of £20, had no choice but to pay as had asked me to appeal further as the first appeal responded a few weeks later ignoring all the evidence. Not a very nice way to treat your guests. I do not recommend this venue so please avoid.
Attend for Leroc Classes on a Monday. Lovely venue
Lovely place inside and easy to get to. They also have a decent amount of parking spaces. There is a bar section and stage accompanying the hall, so great for any function. I have taken a star off due to the stairs at the front entrance, they significant damaged with smashed tiles and broken concrete. May be unstable for those that struggle to walk, or children at functions.
Great hall for community events upto 200 people. Good parking space available and a kitchen to arrange for food and even cook for a crowd. Toilet and baby changing facilities available. Staff are friendly and reservation is required early gor confirmed dates availability.
