Arriving at our accommodation latish, we decided to give this nearby pub a try as we needed to get the children fed by about 7 pm. Bad decision! The adults ordered steak and ale pie, and we ordered fish and chips and scampi and chips for the kids. The pies were tasteless and the vegetables were overcooked, the cauliflower distinctly grey. Even the chips were nothing special. The scampi was eaten but he is only 18 months has a good appetite. Drinks: my daughter ordered lime and soda water but when it came it had obviously been made with lemonade so was too sweet to drink. We then asked for orange juice for my granddaughter but when it came it was squash. Her reaction was to keep saying YUK! The IPA was drinkable, just, though my wife wanted a Becks and they only had non-alcoholic. We were beginning to understand why so few people were eating there even though it was a bank holiday Saturday. Undaunted, we noticed that they had eggs for sale and as we needed something for breakfast, we bought half a dozen. When we looked at the next morning, we saw that they were a week past their sell by date. Needless to say, we will not be returning and we would strongly advise others to give it a miss.
Lovely soft bed and a warm room. Bathroom was a little on the small side but fine forthe night we stayed. Signals an issue in the area but not the fault of the Plume.
We had two meals there over our stay and both very enjoyable, lovely pub, very small village shop with basic foods however ask for something and I am sure he would try to get it for you
Lovely pub which has been redecorated recently, nice selection of drinks, would definitely look at having a meal here in the future
Amazing local pub, great staff and management, food is really good and the atmosphere is exactly what you want from a local village pub
My meal was great fish & chips and fruit salad but in general the party I was with said their food was relatively bland.
Food is not that good but nice pub.
Service was great. Food was delivious. Patrons even gave us a lift home. Very welcoming!
Excellent pub with great food
Nice atmosphere, good selection of drinks on offer and comfortable seating.
