Went for a friend's birthday lunch. There were 20 of us, great food and service. Beautifully decorated in calm understated country style.Service: 5/5
Went out for an evening meal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good pub food, which was tasty and hot. Would go there again without any worries.Service: 5/5
Have not stayed here just had an evening meal. Lovely village, service very good. Food is nice but I wouldn't rave about it. Chicken Madras was not a madras. Tasted very nice but no heat whatsoever.Service: 4/5
Our party of 4 enjoyed a lovely lunch. Friendly staff, plenty of parking to be had at the old railway station which is a short distance from the pub. Nice selection of specials to choose from or tapas if that's what you prefer. Recommended. Nearby activities: Snowdrop walk and shrine of our lady slipper chapel, nearby.
Evening meal. Enjoyed chicken breast on specials board. Great service even though busy. Food & drinks: Very enjoyable
We ate in the restaurant. Lovely atmosphere. Was busy for a Tuesday night as it was norfolk food week. 2 or 3 courses very fairly priced under £30. Service was good, we sat by a breezy window so moved to another table in a small cosy booth. Food good. Would definitely return.Service: 4/5
Great place to stay! Our room was nice and very quiet! There are some lovely old photos dotted around which we found very interesting. The dining area was very pleasant and we loved sitting out the front. Very friendly staff, all very knowledgable of the area, they made us very welcome! Food was exceptional and very well cooked! I had the cod with shrimps, which was served on a bed of samphire with new potatoes. My husband had the Lamb dish, and the date pudding for sweet, which he thoroughly enjoyed! The menu here is very good . All top quality, local produce is used here! Breakfast was also lovely! The young couple who own The Black Lion have only had the pub a few months. Its well worth a look. What they have accomplished in such a short time is quite remarkable and they deserve to do well.
What a delight! Myself and my friend were looking for lunch and even though it was after they’d stopped serving food for the afternoon, the bar maid spoke to the chef and he agreed to stay a bit longer to make us lunch. The staff were absolutely lovely, as was my grilled sausage sandwich!
Cracking pub and dining room. Delicious freshly cooked food with great fish and vegetarian options. Good beer and pub vibe at the front. Most of all we loved the welcome and service. Highly recommended.
I have visited here many times over the last 40 years. I have to be honest, it went down a bit of late and understand it closed. However, it's recently been taken over again, refurbished and revamped. It's really lovely with a lovely new Landlady and equally nice staff, all very friendly and welcoming. Great Traditional ales and other drinks. I have no compunction in recommending this place.
