First time at the Plaza, and I had the place to myself! Unbelievable. Bargain price tickets and snacks, I'll definitely be coming back. Very impressive!
Lovely cozy cinema that we enjoy immensely, however, I have noticed that staff do not wait for the end of the movie before coming to clean up. For those of us who love to watch post credits, one of the staff actually came in to tell us there wasn't any even when we were sure there was. When I said there was, he said 'there shouldn't be' it felt like I was being awkward, I'm glad they were both there when the post credits scene came on.
Fabulous Community Cinema. Had my daughters birthday parties here and the staff were amazing. So helpful and supportive as we had a last-minute film change. Great value, beautiful theatre. Fully recommend
This is a wonderful cinema with brilliant dedicated staff, I went here all the time as a kid before I became a full time wheelchair user, but the wheelchair access needs to be improved. Approaching the doors last night for a special showing of Pretty in Pink, the accessible doors weren't ready open whilst the queue was being fed into the doors with the step. No power button. Staff are great in greeting and guiding but sitting in front of the front row seats isn't the way to compensate lack of wheelchair spaces. If you're with a companion they're a full feet+ behind you, makes it hard to chat before the film comes on and share goodies during. In the past I've sat in the aisle to be level with my friend to save both of our backs. Everything got done up a few years ago, all seats replaced with nice new ones but no thought put in to creating empty wheelchair spaces and levelling the floor at the back. It's really just thoughtless and feels like it depends on sympathy for the fact it's community and voluntarily run to get away with it. But generally speaking, quality in the big screen is great I can't say for the smaller, I've not been in there in 20 years, the prices of tickets and snacks are reasonable, and the atmosphere is truly lovely. It is a proper community cinema where you're welcomed like an old friend. I would go here more often if I didn't have to deal with it's access issues. ETA to reply to reply as there is no further reply option:- unfortunately that is the same response I got from my first making these complaints in 2018 on FB. I appreciate the pandemic impacted business and low levels of visiotrs this year make improvements hard however other improvements have been made in spite of this since 2018 - the balcony seats, the electronic board. Where there is a will there's a way and clearly dedicated spaces are low priority.
Multi room cinema that once upon a time was a lovely little old theatre. One of the rooms now still has a lot of original features from its theatre days which is pretty cool. It is also run by volunteers from the local community who work hard to keep the place going and also prices very very low! Much lower than your standard big cinemas. Can't recommend enough.
Definitely one of the nicest cinemas I have visited, full of charm with it retaining that old fashioned feel and design with modern touches. It is lovely to see them keeping an old building in good use and keeping it so nice. Definitely worth a visit and supporting them keeping this place going
this is my favourite cinema in the north-west. all run by lovely community volunteers and not to mention the extremely low prices. the building itself is stunning and i can’t help but stare every time i drive past! please support your local cinema by attending this over a multiplex!
I've driven past here numerous times and wanted to go Finally made it with my friend and we were both blown away by the cinema, we even had a tour of the place I apologise, I have forgotten his name but he was amazing, extremely friendly. Will be visiting here again, without a doubt. Have spoken to friends and family about the cinema !
Went here with my wife to watch wicked, little letters for over 60's. Film was really good & the atmosphere was very good. Thought the Plaza was nice and the volinteers did a fantastic job. Would definitely recommend a visit!
Really good cinema quite the old fashioned. There's also a small newer one. Toilets clean. Men's urinals should've been placed somewhere else because when you walk on you can see someone doing their thing in the urinal slightly
