Ambience: Great place to visit family or friends. Good vibe. Food: Fair portion, value for money. Lot of options to choose from.. half pizza and half pasta is a great steal. Service: Had to wait a bit longer than expected for the food. As there is no option to reserve a table, there's a lot of waiting around. Cost: Reasonable enough.
Love Francesscas the food is delicious the ambience is warm and friendly and at a reasonable price. What more could you ask for. You do have to queue but get yourself a drink whilst your standing and take it all in.
Lovely staff, great food, nice decor. I went with my daughters and we had a cannelloni, spagbol and a penne bolognese. Portions are very generous. I ended up taking the other half of my cannelloni home. For desserts we had a raspberry sorbet and a portion of profiterrole. Really enjoyed our girls night out.
Had lunch here with my wife and daughter, staff very friendly and sociable, served quickly with drinks pint of peroni, 1/2 peroni, diet coke and glass of prosecco food was gorgeous, tomato garlic bread, smoked haddock risotto, penne arabiata, tagliatelle carbonara, and all for less than £50.
Great food and atmosphere. A very novel idea as you can order your favourite pasta and pizza dish as a half and half! Ridiculously reasonably priced food and drink too, with an authentic, rustic and Italian feel. The only complaint I'd have is that the queuing time was longer than usual, and there was no option to book. But a big queue is always a good sign!
While staying in the area and after seeing the high rating, thought I would give this place a go. Went early after reading about potential queue, but I wasn't early enough and waited 45 mins to be seated. The smells were good and kept me in said queue. The place is really really busy and the crowd seems to be mainly students, was so hungry and really looking forward to this authentic Italian experience unfolding before me. The staff were all great and friendly, the food here was it's let down, don't get me wrong it's ok hence the 3 stars but was expecting so much more. For the price though couldn't complain. The half pizza half pasta I got was average, don't understand how they do half a pizza, I imagine kitchen full of half pizzas being brought out as ordered as mine didn't feel fresh and the cheese potentially processed as it had a very greasy feel to it the Carbonara I would put on par with a supermarket microwave meal. The place is always busy so appeals to a certain crowd.
The best pizzeria in the area. Family run restaurant, proper traditional service & I like the no bookings policy. You queue up and it’s simpler but could be waiting a while because it’s so popular! Recommend cheesy garlic bread pizzas, the steak & the ribs starter. Prices are fair and service is good, they’re to the point sometimes but if you can have banter with them they are friendlier, especially the older gentleman. Would take anybody here if they’re wanting a nice restaurant experience.
As always, excellent food. Lasagna was perfect as was my house risotto. A third dish was king prawns also good. Only criticism, after being close to the queue front, many people behind were seated first as we were waiting for the third person to arrive.Food: 5/5
Just eaten in this warm and friendly restaurant. A Xmas Eve tradition with my family for thirty odd years. Always good food and friendly staff. If anything, the pizzas where better than ever. Thanks to the staff who make it so good.
We had a nice lunch..thought the staff bit grumpy. First visit at lunch time it's normally an evening meal. They weren't busy and we asked if another drink was possible.if they said no...ok go elsewhere but to serve us then constantly stare at the table making us feel very uncomfortable . I don't think we will go back at lunch time and the staff need to learn some manners. You clear a table as the customers leave not glass by glass. If you don't want us to stop say bar closed...but if you take our money don't then be rude.
