How can you have such incompetent receptionists in a professional medical centre? The doctors I’ve engaged with were polite and helpful but the receptionists are useless. Normally I wouldn’t write such direct abuse but when they lose documents rather “we have no idea where it is, we probably shredded it” and tell you to refill them out like you have unlimited free time then I cannot help but be annoyed. If your receptionists struggle with basic document handling then I worry about what other things they may be doing wrong. One star may seem harsh but you’re meant to trust your GP and I cannot say I trust Pinfold, I only use them as I live nearby.
Exceptional service always…. As a family we have used pinfold for 24 years. Cannot fault them
I have been a patient here since I was a teenager and I am now in my 30's. I have always followed the rules about giving advance notice if I can't make appointments and not raising my voice or being rude to some of the very rude reception staff. All I ask in return is to be able to see a doctor/nurse and some competent people dealing with my very sensitive personal information. The practice have been confused about my address since my daughter was born and I have clarified that my daughter and I do live in the catchment area on several occasions. My daughter is 5 months old and has a very bad cold so I rang to make an appointment just to be told that she has been unregistered because of the confusion at their end and I now have to leave my sick child to show them proof of address - AGAIN! If I want to complain, I have to put something in writing to the practice manager but I'm sure all they will do is re-register my daughter but do I really want to be a part of a practice who can't be trusted to listen or update my records correctly?! Incompetent is an understatement. It's such a shame because the doctor's and nurses at the practice have always been great.
My mother was trying to talk to the receptionist about a repeat prescription. My mother is a cancer patient in her 80’s trying to deal with life in the middle of an epidemic. The receptionist. Yasmina I think? Was rude, totally without any sympathy and quite frankly unfit for the position of first point of call. I could not believe her attitude. And. This is not the first time I have had dealings with this woman. Not a pleasant experience!!
Having read most of the feedback on this site i must endorse the many negative comments written about the receptionists at this surgery; been a patient for almost a decade and the infamous ‘yasmine’? has abused me verbally on numerous occasions yo tge point that, even when she’s proved wrong, still refuses to apologise and dishes out further abuse!! As has been stated, the only reason I remain a patient is entirely down to Dr Janice Brunskill, by far the best GP registered there and who knows my medical history implicitly and nothing is ever beyond her skills as a doctor, otherwise I would quit to another practice. Aside from this, they are the most useless organisation to have dealings with and it’s about time they reviewed their receptionists as their attitude sucks!
Impossible to get an appointment by the time you do get through all appointments are gone, yet there still advertising to take more patients on online. It makes you wonder how the elderly are getting appointments to be seen? I've been with them since I was born 30 years ago but time to look for somewhere else. I was also accused of taking too many of my tablets by the lovely receptionist that has been mentioned a few times on here already, this was in front of a full room of patients in the waiting room. I checked the date I last had my meds, and I was late getting them not early. Rang back and explained what had happened to another receptionist, no apology or anything. Rather embarrassing to be asked if you are over medication in front of loads of people, when actually your not and never have!
My father recently passed away. My mother was expected to help the GP to prounounce him dead with the aid of a video link from one of the doctors at the practise. As she was unable to do so due to the fact her husband had died an hour ago!! my son took over and said it was a most distressing experience. I find this appalling!! I realsie new rules allow doctors to pronounce death without attending if members of the household are self isolating! This was not the case in this instance. The funeral parlour sent over 2 people to take the body into thier care. If they could handle the body and walk into the house why not a GP?? The whole experience has completely tarnished my thoughts about the medical profession.
Moved from Dishley Grange recently due to poor service could NEVER get an appointment. Pinfold is a breath of fresh air! The doctors are friendly and helpful, don't appear to just want to get rid of you but take the time to really diagnose problems. Most importantly their econsult allows GPs to get back to you very quickly for simple prescriptions/advice. GREAT SURGERY
I first registered here back in 1993. The service between that time and this is unrecognisable. Back then, getting an appointment for the same day or later in the week was as easy as falling off a log. Now you have to bash them over the head with the log. You must call between 8 and 8:30 am to book a same-day appointment. For me, the line has always been engaged for 15-35 minutes. Eventually, when someone answers my call, I'm told all appointments are booked and to try again tomorrow. So I try again tomorrow and the same occurs. Today, I wasn't even connected till 8:20 am, when unsympathetic AI told me I was number 15 in the phone queue. Repetitive chillwave music tickles my eardrums, cooling the urge to fling my phone against the wall. Seven minutes later, I'm number 5 in the queue. Excruciatingly monotonous synth melodies seed malevolent fantasies in my brain. 8:29 and I've made it - the receptionist answers my call! No appointments left. Try again tomorrow or leave a note for the doctor. I leave a note and sob into my handset. Another half hour of my life I'll never get back. I've also found it impossible to book an appointment online, unless I want to book 3-5 weeks in advance. Sadly, I'm not psychic enough to tell that far in advance whether I'm going to be ill. Can anyone recommend me a decent fortune teller? I'm actually tempted to book five weeks ahead on the off-chance then invent an ailment if I'm healthy. Lack of proper funding for the NHS is the root of the problem. Stop voting Tory, unless you crave many more years of phone queue torture.
Awful system. On hold from 8am for half an hour to be told there's no appointments left everytime and to call back next day which is just a repeat of the day before. 99% of Drs and nurses are great when you do actually get to see them but the entire appointment system really lets it down. I've never heard a positive word spoken about this surgery and it's the only one I've ever been with since birth. I'm moving all of our family to somewhere else because it's beyond ridiculous.
