First Chinese restaurant when I came to London. Taste okay and the portion quite good. I like the pecking duck and beef black pepper. Also the crab & corn soup is good too We cake here in big Group around 100 people but the service is fast and good
I have tried a range of Phoenix Palace restaurants around the world, including in Hong Kong, New Zealand, and London etc. This one has the lightest taste and authentic Cantonese-style food. The service is also quick and efficient.Food: 4/5
Beautiful decorations and exceptional services. Food were great and high quality, and not too salty or too much MSG.Food: 4/5
A last minute lunch with friends. Phoenix was recommended by one of the group. A modest street entrance opens into a large dining room that is decorated in a traditional style. The staff were all welcoming, warm, friendly and accommodating. Could not be faulted. We ordered a mix of dim sum and main dishes that we shared. Everything was great although the Peking Duck was a bit dry. From reviews and friend recommendations I believe this was just a one-off and I will definitely return and try the Peking Duck again. Pricing was ok as we ordered far too much, had a beer each and it was around £55 each including service. Definitely worth a visit.
I’ve only ever been here for dinner over the past 20+ years and quality of food has always been great. So came here for dim sum. Food was just as good. There’s a good selection of dim sum available and some new style ones like the steam rice rolls with crispy dough and prawns. Spare ribs were quite large compared to other restaurants. The beef crispy noodles and ho fun dish was nasty, with a good amount of beef. I wasn’t disappointed. Vegetarian options: Plenty of choices surprisingly. Dietary restrictions: Restaurant can accommodate some restrictions. They don’t cater for halal. Parking: Residential free parking available but limited. Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Mobility facilities available. Ramp at the front door and toilets by the front door too. There is only 1 floor so manoeuvring a wheelchair/pram is accessible.
This place was highly recommended by a reliable source! And I was really exited to have this option in London for Chinese food. As soon as I got in the restaurant, I was transported to China. The place es beautiful. The food look amazing, the portions and presentation were excellent. However, I was disappointed about the lobster dumplings. When I tried them, I felt a strong flavour of prawn. I tried it again after few other dishes and the same prawn flavours came back. The next step was to check the filling. You can judge yourselves on the las photo I posted. It’s a prawn! So please, next time I’d love to try a real lobster dumpling!
One of the Soho Houses near Baker Street serving excellent Chinese cuisine. Weekends are packed with people so do pre-book. Toilets were clean and service pretty good despite the busy lunch hour. The dishes can be quite spicy with generous addition of dry red cillies. So if you cannot tolerate that, ask them to recommend mild dishes. On our last visit coffee machine was broken but, they had the full list of coffee on this occasion.
I’ve been here a couple of times as it’s a family favourite. We came here in the evening on CNY this time round. Very welcoming and attentive service. Food was lovely and fillingFood: 5/5
Excellent and authentic Cantonese cuisine in London! We ordered a mixture of classic dishes and they all exceeded our expectations. I recommend the hot and sour soup, the aromatic duck, yuk sung lettuce wraps, prawn cheung fun and the scallops with asparagus. The quality of the food is very good and there is a good variety of seafood on the menu.
This is up there for one of the best Chinese restaurants in Central London. Taste, flavours, and qualityFood: 5/5
