My dog became extremely poorly having nose bleeds. I attended on many occasions for the same problem but was turned away . Each time I attended I was told I need private vet to do blood tests. I explained due to low income yes I worked i couldn’t afford private vets. They than stated they wouldn’t see my dog. After trying to find a vet affordable I was told pdsa could do blood tests and was sent back. They argued me and staff was rude after many calls they agreed to see my dog. They said they’d admit him over night as he was becoming extremely poorly. The following day I called up for update. They said he needed private vet to do blood tests again. When I went to collect my dog he collapsed and blood wouldn’t stop: we was left in a room for two hours while he bleed out. My children was with me and they moaned about the mess my dog had made. While trying to leave people in the waiting room tried to help me . I was than called back into the room and they agreed to do blood tests. After 4 days while he was in there care they said they gave him blood and fluids. When I collected him they said the bleeding had stopped. When I collected him he was blood stained . They had a badge over half his nose. When we took the badge off he started bleeding again. I returned back within a hour. They said they didn’t give him tests or blood transfusion and I was being cruel keeping him alive. They made me feel a bad owner not able to afford private vets. They said he’d be better off being put to sleep before I’d let him bleed to death. Sadly I was forced to put him to sleep. This vet doesn’t provide help or support for very poorly pets. I remember visiting out of hours and the staff was annoyed they was eating kfc and was annoyed having to leave there food to attend to me despite them telling me to bring my dog in. This service doesn’t care about the animals they look down on you: I’ve worked or my life untill I became poorly. They treated me like scum they left my poor fur baby to suffer. They left my poor dog to just bleed out in the room no support. This vet puts healthy animals to sleep . Please seek second opinion from another vet as this one put healthy animals down without full test
UPDATE> February 12th 2025nnMy dearest Kiri... it's been 1 year today since I lost you. There is not a day or night that passes where I don't think about you or talk to God wishing you were still here. I still cry and have sorrow in my heart. You inprinted on our hearts and i'll be eternally grateful for knowing and loving you. I miss you and love you with all of my HEART - Forever & always nn__________________nnAbsolutely shattered to pieces. Today was the worst day of our lives. Our 4 month kitten god bless her was vomiting and when we took her to emergency triage they put her on oxygen as she started struggling to breathe. They ran tests and nothing was found. They took x-rays and no diagnosis. For 3 hours on oxygen and given glucose to spike her blood sugar, she was not picking up but fading fast. They wanted to put her to sleep which we didn't want to accept because they weren't doing enough for her. If she's struggling to breathe, flush for any possible toxins and do other things to tick off possible causes of vomiting and struggling to breathe!! We have had to come home without her. Saying our goodbyes to her and coming home to her never being here again. The love she gave us and the beauty in her heart...God we miss you and love you with all of our hearts. You gave us so much love and we can't imagine life without you. This is so very painful and i can't believe this is even happening. It's broken our hearts and we will forever love and miss you. Three hours and didn't even know what was wrong with her! Didn't even give her anything or do much. Ruling out diagnoses and acting upon them should've been what they should have done. If they suspected toxins due to her symptoms, why not flush her body to make sure?! Why just leave her suffering like that and not acting upon possible diagnosis and ticking off possible causes by giving her meds and doing everything?! Just oxygen and glucose. Not even trying other things! I also believe they went behind our back and consent and euthanized her. They were pushing for euthanization and calling me cruel so heartless. When we came in to see her, a few minutes later she was dying right in front of us. When she passed, she was still moving and twitching which to my knowlege is a result of euthanization. They can't be trusted. I feel in my heart that's what they did without my consent. Absolutely wicked! They should have known why she was struggling to breathe. They should of known the diagnosis. It's absoultly disgusting honestly. They should of helped her to breathe and gain her oxygen back. To think that there is equipment to make a pet breathe and they couldn't get her to breathe normally again is beyond me. I keep asking how can our baby not breathe after being on 3 hours of oxygen. 3 hours!!!!! They should have done more. They didn't. I just can't understand or get to accept that they couldn't get her to breathe and find the cause. They had 3 hours! How can you spend that long and not find the cause to why she was struggling to breathe and why her blood sugar wasn't increasing? It's absolutely disgusting honestly. You can't trust them with your beloved pet. They are supposed to be knowledgeable and know the diagnosis. We have lost part of our heart, our beautiful baby. We will never get her back!!! Absolutely heartbroken. They told me other veterinary clinics can do MRI scans on the brain...meaning that they don't. They lack essensial helathcare equipment to help our pets. This brings to the conclusion that they lack a lot of equipment and medicines. As a veterinary clinic they should be fully equipped and be able to give the best hope to saving our pets. Be careful about putting your beloved pet in the hands of PDSA. They lack everything. They wasted our baby's time she had left and she was suffering and passing away because they didn't know diagnostics to save her!! We just can't believe she's gone! We're in utter despair. The tears we shed and pain in our hearts will be there for a long time. God, i can't believe she's actually gone.
If I could leave no star review I would! Neglected my poor cat in a emergency sent away when demanding an appointment after they wouldn't see him only offered to triage him or put him to sleep when asking them to triage him they wouldn't give me any information other than I needed to go to a private vets.. I left then called back demanding them to do something as they got a duty of care they then wrongly diagnosed my cat!!! I then had to take him to a different vets to have his tooth removed it was embedded into his gum from trauma no wonder he was in pain couldn't eat, drink and was drooling was in pain they said it's just a tooth infection completely didn't care gave 12 hour pain relief but refused to do anything else !! Rude staff would never recommend this service I even had the staff put the phone down on me disgusting service NEGLECT service should be this hospitals name!! I'm so glad I didn't listen to them to putting him to sleep his a healthy cat just needed the tooth taken out he obviously had an injury!!! Lazy staff just couldn't be bothered
PDSA provides crucial support for those who can’t afford veterinary care, and I truly appreciate that. However, my experience there was one of the most painful of my life. My best friend had to be put to sleep, and in the midst of my grief—while having a full-blown panic attack—the vet simply stared at me and asked, “Why didn’t you bring him in sooner?” This, despite my repeated visits where my concerns weren’t taken seriously. No tissues, no water, no basic compassion offered—just cold indifference at one of the hardest moments of my life. I can’t believe the lack of empathy I encountered.
Absolutely disgusting my daughter took her pet rat for a euthanasia appointment but he passed away in her arms in the waiting room before they went in to see the vet. When she told the reception staff she no longer needed the appointment and needed her money back the female receptionist told her she still needed the appointment to make sure he had definitely passed away.... why??? What on earth she was too upset to argue about it. Would give zero stars if possible.
