Having read some of the one star reviews, I understand peoples frustration with this hotel. It is noisy, sometimes very noisy, in fact sometimes so noisy that the only thing you can do is laugh instead of sleep. However this is to be expected as you are staying in the centre of a busy tourist area. The location of this hotel is excellent, perfect walking distance from the key tourist attractions. Another frustration that people have highlighted is the fact the rooms are "dirty and very outdated". I have to admit that the whole hotel is very dark, and the room we stayed in was not even close to being semi-modern. I get the impression that this hotel was designed for business travellers in the 90s and hasn't been changed since. Personally, I quite enjoyed the whole "American Psycho" aesthetic that the room had, complete with an ancient looking trouser press attached to the wall. At first glance I had no idea what it was, I thought it was an ironing board.. The room was complete with dark wood furnishings, ripped wallpaper, stained carpet and black and white pictures of landmarks around the world. All in all, the perfect hotel for a businessman in the 90s. The staff were very friendly and anyone saying otherwise is lying. I did see one review about how there was a ridiculous looking "mural" on the ceiling in the bar - I am yet to see this for myself but it is something that I am looking forward to viewing tomorrow morning. On the whole - hotel does the job. It's not glamorous and if you're a light sleeper, bring some ear plugs. A lovely welcome back to the 90s.
Highly recommended. Great location. 100m from Dublin Castle and in an area with plenty of bars and life. The bus to the airport stops 200m away on the other side of the river. The attention of the staff was great and helpful. My room was in a corner on the side of the main Street, and was a little bit noisy... yet it was large, and the bed was particularly comfortable. I did not choose breakfast option. Yet, I had a complimentary water boiler and some coffee bags. I would repeat the hotel without any doubt if I'd visit again Dublin.
Although the room was a bit on the small side the hotel itself overall and the cleanliness of the whole place was more than acceptable. The staff were friendly and helpful and gave us some good info on options to get some food nearby. The hotel is situated in the heart of Dublin, just on the outskirts of the lively Temple Bar and just far enough away from the cluster of pubs / clubs meaning your nights rest shouldn't be disturbed too much by party people. A twin room cost us €129 which was a good price in comparison to what's on offer nearby. Overall, a decent hotel at a good price. Definitely recommend and will look to return.
Lovely staff. Very elegant, clean, comfortable, quiet and cosy rooms. Many TV channels, lovely food. Plenty of wardrobe space and mirrors in the bedroom. Spacious bathroom. Huge bed. The "double" beds are the size of queen sized beds. The only negative things were that there were only two electrical sockets in our room and they were at the opposite side of the room to the bed and the fact that the shower doesn't have a cool setting, it's only very warm or hot. I'd definitely stay again and would recommend it. Great breakfast too. They have an omnivore fry, a vegetarian fry and offer a vegan fry which is the vegetarian one without the egg. Very relaxed environment throughout the hotel.
Before you book a room at this place , please make sure it’s not the weekend. There is a bar/club downstairs and you can hear absolutely everything on the second floor. The partying was going on till 3-4 am . We had no sleep. Besides that , it seemed that the walls were really thin, I could hear the people next room walking !! The heater didn’t function , but the whole room including the hall was super hot I have no idea where that came from, they might have some general temp. Regulator . It was so hot that we had to open the window and we were only able to have a small crack opened. This actually made us sick , since the super cold air came through but the whole room was burning hot. Bed and pillows were okay. Cleanliness was okay. I still give 3 stars cause the staff was amazing , the location was great.
Nice hotel in a great location close to the shops and nightlife. Our room was spacious and beds comfy. The hotel seems to be getting a bit of a face-lift. Would definitely stay again. We had no issues thankfully with noise.
Good room's, good location, bad room service, - I was there for a week and the bed clothes were never changed not even once , nor was the room cleaned, the staff were very friendly and polite to a point where they knocked on the door every few hours to make sure that I was okay...Rooms: 5/5
The rooms are really nice but the staff is what really makes this hotel a great place to stay. Every staff member I interacted was friendly and very helpful. One member of the staff even went above and beyond and met me on a street corner too help me find the hotel. The location is great as well. I definitely plan on staying here for my next visit to Dublin.
Hotel was nice and clean, staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I had breakfast there and it was probably the best cooked breakfast I've ever had. Only downside to breakfast is that there's not a lot of choice of non cooked breakfast/continental breakfast. It can be quite noisy at night from music and people shouting/talking outside the hotel but this is expected as the hotel is very close to pubs and bars. Don't go to this hotel for a good nights sleep, but definitely recommend if you're going to out in pubs all the duration of your stay as it's in the perfect location!! Would stay here again.
Great staff. Very clean location. The rooms were big and inviting. Felt a bit fancy by the location. It’s right next to temple bar. Wish we would of booked this room at a later date since when we stayed we were only using it to mainly sleep since we were going to drive around the island the next morning. But location is prime here. For car parking they will give you a discounted rate at the q-park so ask for the card so the price gets reduced whenever you are exiting the car park.
