Seems well run and with decent facilities, but a bit run down and in need of some tlc- the waiting rooms were closed and there was a bit of a grotty feel to the place. On the plus side it has good signage, okay toilets and a water refill station. Plus the little Costa in the station looked nice, but closed at 5pm on Sundays which feels a bit early for a city centre station.
A very busy station that feels like it is crying out for a refurbishment. In its current form, it feels quite unloved and not very well looked after. The platforms are too narrow for the number of people cramming onto them, particularly at rush hour. It's also not easy to navigate during rush hour due to the sheer number of people, and lack of visible signage blocked by people or just not enough of it?
I recently visited this train station and was pleasantly surprised. The station is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of seating and helpful staff. The train schedules are easy to follow and the trains run frequently, making it easy to get around. The station has a variety of amenities, including shops, restaurants, and restrooms, which is great for long waits. The only downside is that the station can get crowded during peak hours, so be prepared to navigate through crowds. Overall, I had a great experience and would highly recommend this station to anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable way to travel.
Awful experience got to the station early so I could grab a coffee and something to eat before my train but I was told I’m not aloud to come into Oxford station until 15 mins before my train journey therefore had to stand outside in the rain and only had a few mins to buy my food in the cafe. One of the staff members was particularly rude about it.
Very poor station and staff, due to one train to Liverpool being delayed, they never updated the boards for my train to Wales. Many people on board thought it was the Liverpool train. Worst station I’ve stopped at
Station great, staff friendly and helpful. Train service poor....
Asked a member of staff is this train for the airport. Said it three times and she said what does it say up there and pointed to a sign and walked off. Members of the public said what she should have said yes it is. When the trains are delayed and ticket machines say it’s another twenty minutes and friendly staff say it should be arriving soon, there is no need for her attitude. Some of your staff apologised about her behaviour
Small enough to be easy, unlike Piccadilly where a country boy like me can get confused
Very friendly exceptionally helpful ticketing office staff NB Please don't close the ticket offices you Tory politicians, or people like me can no longer travel by train; "only 10% use the ticket offices" you say, but that's still millions of people!! very accessible for multiple disabilities; friendly and helpful platform staff.
This train station is in a great location, with good train services. Due to its size it is easy to navigate and the screens show real time train departure times however the facilities at this station are disgusting especially the ladies toilets! There is only one coffee shop which surprisingly is Costa which is in most train station I’ve frequented and the coffee is . Overcrowding can be a serious issue during peak times when onboarding and boarding the train. I only use this station due to location which is why I gave it the one star. If you want decent coffee go to the coffee shop across the road Java Bar Espresso. I can’t comment on how helpful the staff may or may not be as I purchase my tickets on the Trainline App and don’t interact with the staff.
