I went to the post office to post an item. I specifically said to the woman “I need to send this”. She asked me what’s in the box I said clothing, she asked me what’s the value i said £200. She then said what I misheard as next day delivery. I said to her I don’t need next day delivery I just need proof of delivery. She then said no not next day next Wednesday delivery and I reiterated okay that i just need signed for. She said what she offered is the only option she has. I said okay that’s fine, under the assumption that this was a royal mail 48hr tracked/signed for. She quotes a price of £9.45 which I found odd, but paid. I later look at my receipt too and see ive been charged for special delivery which is supposed to be next day but this won’t arrive next day given it’s posted on saturday new years on monday. I check online and see there are other postage options available. When i go there she tells me that these are only available online and I would need to print them off. And I said but you sell 1st and 2nd class stamps here and she goes on to try to defend herself without listening. At one point as i tell her what I asked for she tells me that “I shouldn’t stand here telling her lies” and then when she recounts her version and quoted the cost of my item she tells me that i told her £100 which was inaccurate. and i show her the receipt and then she goes oh well we can’t remember everything people tell us but yet she’s 100% sure about what i said to her and that I was lying. Absolute horrid service and as another reviewer has written they have a reputation of doing this of charging you for more expensive delivery options. They didn’t apologise for the service they provided, she didn’t apologise for calling me a liar. Absolute disgusting service. And I was overcharged for a delivery that wouldn’t even arrive by the guarantee provided so I could have just been offered a second class tracked or signed for. Stealing peoples money. Should be ashamed.
Super slow service, I had to wait for 30min just to scan and drop the parcel which took me 15sec at max. There were more than 20 people in the queue by the time I left branch. Only one lady serving customers. My parcel hasn’t been collected for 4 days despite the fact that delivery office is 3min away, now I am confused if its still there or not, maybe somebody steal it as all parcels left under the counter on the floor which is absolutely not safe, it will take few sec to take the parcel and run away. Would never ever visit again, only had to go here as delivery office was closed
Don't expect this office to be open at 9AM as stated online. Customers told the people queueing that 10AM was a better bet. When I went a queue formed from 9AM and at 9.20AM, a single employee showed up. 9.30AM if you're lucky they'll finally open.
Lovely people but I wish they would turn up on time. I waited for half an hour this morning, man turned up at 0915 ready to start at 0920. This then meant I was 25 mins behind schedule and there was a whole queue of people there. Someone said that they are often late…. So why not advertise as open later?
Never had a good experience here. Only ever one person working behind the desk and they are very rarely helpful. Somehow you're guaranteed to wait at least 30 mins to be seen, even if there's only one other person in front of you in the queue. Parcels are just left out on the floor by the door, ready for anyone to take or break. Try my hardest to avoid it at all costs.
One of the worst experiences I've had.. This place deserves no stars! I would like to start of by saying I have never wrote a review and the experience I have today was by far the worst one. I went here around 12pm to post some items that I had. while arriving, I noticed the sign outside saying only 3 people are allowed in the store, therefore, I stood in the line to wait my turn. After waiting my turn, I proceeded inside with my bike as I didn't to lock it up outside. I was then told that bikes are not allowed inside without any reason by a clerk with glasses. I then took my bike and locked it outside. I came back inside to have the other clerk tell me that there are only 3 people inside, and that I had to wait back in the line. The clerk with the glasses didn't make no attempt to say that was there before and I had waited my turn. Along with customers saying that I jumped the queue and forcing their way towards the clerk. While the clerk with the glasses just blankly stares and does nothing to resolve the situation. I then stood back in the line. My turn now comes to the clerk with the glasses. He rudely helps me with the items that I had, like I was the one causing all the commotion. while I to pay for an item that I was sending out others were prepaid, I was charged a ridiculous amount and I was not told the options that I were available. so the price was £6.**, I then told him that is way to much and that it should be cheap, I would gladly post it somewhere else. He then brung to the price to £4.**. During my time at the counter, they had a delivery that came from Royal Mail. The clerk stopped what he was doing with me and accepted the delivery. He then spent around 4 minutes seeing where his delivery that arrived goes and what he should do with it. Then after realising that he is still serving me and just rudely tells me the total and where to put it, with the rudest and careless look on his face. After this encounter, I will never go to this Post Office again, and I will never recommend it for anyone else. Save your integrity and self respect for another branch.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Dropping parcels everyday and yes there is a queue very often, but its a small office with only 2 desk. Have seen bigger branches and much slower service.
A few years back, the customer service was bad and only had one window so one had to bear with the long queue. But it has since improved, the staffs are more friendly and number of windows are a bit more reasonable. There are a few limited 20 minutes parking spaces outside, it would be nice if there were more.
Very rude staff, in addition to which I was overcharged for a large letter when I only wanted to buy a stamp for 70p. I've never been to a post office and had a bad experience let alone being ripped off until I visited this one for the first time today. It's better to make your journey longer and go to a decent post office where you'll get a much better experience and avoid this dodgy area.
The worst post office to go to,they deserve 0 rate.The owner and his staff woud overcharge you, don't measure the staff ,being rude if ask for the price .you have keep your eyes on them like dealing with thief. They would pick up on new customers or the ones they feel that they can get away with. This place is not worth of time and money, and the worst thing of all,the post office let get away with if reported,and take their side.
