Decided to go here after reading the VERY mixed reviews, but with little choice as the other chippy in town was shut. Order placed @ 5:45 for a mixture of cod, chips & battered sausage (big mistake!) for the kids, coming to over £27. From the tiny seating area I watched 3 other sets of customers arrive after me and take their food. Another couple who were in the shop before me were also getting frustrated a the excessive waiting. One lady who had arrived 20 mins after me took her food and obviously felt guilty as she commented to the staff that I should have been served first. When I asked when my order would be ready, the owner simply pointed at a sign on the wall saying "DON'T LIKE WAITING - TELEPHONE YOUR ORDER", and didn't even make eye contact. When I asked why it had taken so long, his explanation involved not being able to fry batterered sausage with fish...?? I got my food at 6:15. The food itself was OK, and my family were happy with their meals, but the combination of waiting half an hour and the rude and dismissive attitude of the owner tainted my experience. I would recommend taking a good book!

Tonight we stopped for dinner and it was FANTASTIC! Thank you for making our family have happy full tummys with delicious fish, chips and sausages. Will continue to visit each year we return.

Arrived plenty of time prior to closing to be informed that they didn't have any fish. Apparently they had "plenty of burgers and chips" though. Total waste of time!
