Oaks Hospital is one of Essex's leading private hospitals with an excellent reputation for delivering high quality private hospital treatments and services. Located on the outskirts of Colchester, the hospital opened on this site in 1994 and currently has 57 bedrooms including three twin-bedded rooms all with en-suite facilities to ensure complete privacy throughout your stay.

Staff are friendly and professional and respect individual patient needs at all times. Oaks Hospital has a tradition of working closely with Consultants and patients to ensure the best quality healthcare is consistently being delivered.

All Consultants undergo rigorous vetting procedures, ensuring only those who are qualified and experienced are granted practising privileges which are reviewed on a regular basis.

My partner had hernia surgery here today. Cannot fault the smooth operation of procedures, or the very helpful efficient staff. Clean, comfortable, and relaxed. The receptionists are also incredibly helpful! Made a very nervous patient and visitor feel more at ease.
I had a scan over 4 weeks ago and still not had the results or a follow up appointment or anyone contact me. I have called them twice and get told by the very blunt people that answer the phone that I just have to wait! Sorry but is this because I am an NHS patient? I have never had to wait this long for results for anything. Not impressed. I would not recommend

At first looked very good and the staff were lovely, but when I saw my consultant he turned up 40mins late I was only the "second appointment" he didn't have the time to see me properly and only gave me 7mins to do a quick assessment and then told me to put up it. After that the consultant sent a letter saying I should adapt and how he couldn’t see how my problem would affect me in my life & work. "of which he knew nothing about. Which is why I was in the first place months ago. All in All--- wasted months off work with no pay for nothing." How ever the physio department tried hard and run to time. I am sure they benefit alot of people. "Disappointed is the feeling" regarding the consultant. ...Added 5 months later still trying to adapt.
Great staff but shocking after care, had double hernia and just told to go back to my doctors but I think it because the nhs paid I didn’t wouldn’t recommend based on that.
I would like to thank every member of staff who was looking after me on 4th of july for a total knee replacement. From the first call all the way to coming home, excellent service from everyone. Very happy staff and a very well done to all. I would recommend this hospital to anyone, the care received is second to none. Hospital at it's finest. Many thanks Linda.
The day before my husband's scheduled operation he received a vmail to call the hospital. He did so only to be told that his private operation had been cancelled due to the lack of an anesthetist being available. He was given a new date of 1 week later and told that hopefully the op would be able to go ahead then. Bearing in mind it has taken almost 3 months to get to this point. We are shocked and very unhappy about it.!
Just like to thank everyone who cared for me while I was in for a hip replacement. Thank you for looking after me and all were very kind could not wish for nicer staff.
I went to the Oaks Colchester today for a Gastroscopy, I was absolutely petrified about having this procedure, and had read so many horror stories online, but I needn't have worried at all, the staff were lovely and reassured me, the doctor came to see me beforehand, I had sedation and was very surprised that I actually do not remember a thing, woke up back in my cubicle, no pain whatsoever apart from a little groggy throat. I would like to thank everyone who looked after me today.
I want to say a very Big Thankyou to Surgeon Mr Wardle for my operation for a Total Hip Replacement. I Also would like to thank , Laura , the Anaesthetists, nurses especially Gabi, Physio's Beth, and Marcin, Canteen Staff , Cleaners, Receptionists, and all FIRST CLASS HOSPITAL AND STAFF many thanks Phil Chappell.
