Horrid out dated not been updated since they were built .I don't know how the university has permission to still use these as accommodation.i don't know how they pass inspection.small kitchen with doors hanging off not enough space for 4 never mind 8 people bathrooms are so grim .
If you are a student, you'll know the pros and cons of living in the place. If you are a parent dropping off and picking up, hold your tongue, everyone has to start somewhere. Though the mouse in my son's block kitchen probably thought it was great. Cleaners are employed but would have to be superhuman to be able to keep up with the mess made by those whose domestic routines have lost their boundaries having just moved out of home. And don't get me started on the treatment of the students by the university during lockdown....
The flat is so very broken down one. It is old and in serious need of maintenance. The rooms are tiny, the bathtub stuck, and the kitchen ridiculously dirty. One good thing about it is that it is quiet during the summer break, which kind of makes up for the terrible conditions there. 1051 pounds for a summer isn't exactly affordable, though.
Kitchens are shared between 8 students so they get filthy. There is never enough room in the fridge. Rooms are tiny and generally not clean. There is an 11pm noise curfew in place but it is ignored by all of the students. Even during exam time, expect to hear screaming and very very loud music up until 5am on most weeknights. This accomodation genuinely felt like a prison.
My son, as a first year Manchester Uni student lived there, amazing value for money. If your 18 year old is not fussed about en-suite bathrooms and aesthetics, and can cook for themselves as its self catered the flats for 8 ppl over 2 floors, with a bathroom on each floor, have very spacious kitchens to eat and socialise with flatmates. Flat are clean, good WiFi, It's not too noisy to study in the evenings in your room either despite comments you might read elsewhere. Accumulate your student debt more slowly; opt for Oak House
big sesh den. only for the strong willed. is falling apart lol
My daughter here...knocked down soon...best thing that could happen to bit. Ripoff fo the price and quality. Very poor.
I work here so can't give it a different rating really
