Totally honest Ashburne Hall review hopefully useful if you’ve been given this accommodation. I was allocated Ashburne despite it being a place I didn’t want to go so I was very apprehensive. Although the halls as a place can feel a bit lonely with doors along a corridor and no flat system if you get out there and knock on doors and go to events it’s easy enough to make friends. I left Ashburne with 6 friends for life. The catered breakfasts were great and it’s lovely to eat with your friends and start the day. The dinners didn’t quite suit me it was very potato based and I had fewer options as a vegetarian but the catering staff were lovely and I enjoyed eating with my friends. Catered food is Monday-Friday so it is self catered on weekends. The average kitchen has a fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and some sort of hob/oven. Some have a toaster but the uni is not required to provide one. However many corridors of 16 share just 2 ring hobs but you may be lucky and have a better ratio. The shared bathroom was fine, never had to queue to use a shower but remember to bring a shower caddy and flip flops. The big bonus of Ashburne is that the rooms are generally much larger than the average uni room. Although they all differ massively with size even the smallest is spacious. The standard single room has a single bed, wardrobe, some sort of drawers or shelf and a desk and chair. The super single has a 3/4 sized bed, sofa and bay windows. Ashburne is in a lovely quiet part of the fallowfield campus with lots of greenery and squirrels which is nice. The TV room in Ashburne was great and my friends and I used to watch tv in there most nights. There is an Ashburne Library too. One thing to consider is that Ashburne is about 90% female and there are some postgraduates but they’re generally housed together. If you get allocated Ashburne and you really didn’t want it, there may be pros and cons but you can make friends wherever you go and it’s a fine place to live. One thing to consider is that Ashburne is about 90% female and there are some postgraduates but they’re generally housed together. This was my kitchen which was only shared by 5 and my bedroom. Hope this helps :
Great hall beautiful these are catered hall
Probably the quietest halls of residence on the Fallowfield campus for the University Of Manchester. Almost entirely girls. Rooms are nice and spacious but the building is old and it shows.
student accommodation. this is the nicest place on campus.
That's my place, people. Just can't stop loving it.
A beautiful old library. Could lose myself for hours in there.
Great place for our students
