Nice selection of furniture. Staff seem friendly and knowledgeable. There was no pressure to buy.
They have some nice furniture at not too bad prices. The problem is the poor service. Yes, you can buy but they don't deliver, they expect you to hire a man and a van. Also, we were told we could pay now but not collect for 6 weeks as they needed to replace the sold furniture first so that there weren't any spaces on the shop floor. I'm surprised they are still in business.
Two double wardrobes, a king size bed and two bedside tables ordered and paid for Sept 7th 2021. Delivery to the bedroom paid for and order promised December 1st. Not delivered. Promised March 15th 2022! Earliest possible date. Not delivered. Promised April 1st. Delivery company claims that furniture cannot be lifted due to "health and safety". It is bedroom furniture! I don't live in a bungalow. Driver left without unloading. Still we wait after 7 months. Do not use this company and certainly do not pay for delivery to your room of choice. This company wants your money and does not take care of its customers.
The service in the store is very good. Steve our salesman was not pushy at all. The furniture has been delivered and the delivery men were A1! Recommend
It certainly is a very nice store to browse around, while my friend went to look for a small dinning table & chairs. The quality of the items on sale, seem extremely strong & sturdy. My only thing I didn't like, was being pounced on by a member of staff, as soon as we walked in. For a Saturday, it was quiet.
Overpriced furniture sold in a pushy environment, by salesmen who appear to know they are selling rubbish. Pushy up sales from the start, first wax, then warranty, and finally delivery. Either pay £40 to have 7 day delivery or free 7-21 day delivery. Opted for the free delivery and it was in 7 days time. No benefit to paying for delivery at all. Salesman also spent a lot of time telling me to througherly inspect the furniture once it arrived, and detailed the procedure to report damage before I had even parted with any money. Next, I was told that the deliverymen will put the furniture in the room of my choosing, but will not unbox or take away packaging. Fine for me, but if you are not strong enough to lift solid wood furniture out of boxes, you are going to need to hire some help here! Especially as written all over the boxes are reminders that returns will not be accepted unless the packing is intact, so you can’t even rip the boxes open! Once we finally had the furniture out of the boxes which involved lying the boxes flat, opening both ends, and pushing out with my feet, I started the detailed inspection the salesman had advised, to discover the items had basically been smashed apart at every joint. This most likely happened as the delivery drivers rolled them across our driveway rather than carry them! Currently waiting for a replacement set of furniture, but not holding out much hope.
Good service. A nicely set up showroom but when you order& pay for your goods the service is poor. I paid for an allotted date& time but my goods didn't show up on the day. No apology or phonecall. Still waiting for my money back for an allotted time slot.
Bought a sofa just before Christmas. It arrived on time, we were very pleased with how it looked And was comfy to sit on. After a week we noticed marks in the cushions. We took a cushion to the store They agreed it wasn’t right. They took photos and said they will sort it out for us. A man called sofa expert ! said he can see the marks but you have been SITTING on it Surely the WRONG fabric is used but I’m no expert! If it marks when sat on. We are very Disappointed we made an expensive mistake!! They should put a sign in all stores by sofas. That says, after purchase Do Not Sit On this will DAMAGE the FABRIC... So if you want to buy something to sit on that lasts from Joak Furniture Land our suggestion is to buy a Table
I purchased two sofas from Oakland furniture in May 2016. The after service was excellent. The sofas were delivered and carried into the house and on inspection I found a small mark in the corner of one of the sofas which we believe was because the delivery men had put it on its side. I telephoned Oakland and they did not quibble my query. They sent a whole new back for the sofa in question and sent out a repairman to fix it. He was efficient and the sofa was fixed. They are really comfortable and I would not hesitate to purchase again from Oakland.
Staff are knowledgeable, I felt at first that they weren't that interested, but after a little while they were really helpful. Store is big and laid out according to each range, so rather than looking at, say, all the TV cabinets, you would have to see each one around the store with its range. Prices are good as are the discounts.
