How can this hospital not have an average 5 out of 5 review? The staff are ever so pleasant, professional and caring. I was not feeling well when I went for my x rays this week and there was a mishap; if it wasn't for the friendly and caring staff, I would have been in a pickle that day. Thank you so much for looking after me, I cant thank you enough.
As with other reviewers the clinical teams are great but the admin/“support” team are appalling. My consultant requested a test and I received a diagnosis over eight weeks ago. It is quite a serious issue but a very simple treatment - a two week course of antibiotics - but I am still waiting to get a prescription. I have sent numerous emails and left phone messages over the eight weeks but never had any replies or even acknowledgements. The issue is not causing further complications which I have raised in messages but it is clear that none of these have been passed on to the Consultant. I would definitely advise avoiding this “hospital” and go elsewhere even if it means extra traveling
My insurance company referred me in October, tried to get an appointment but was told I had to wait for a response from the medical secretaries. Waited three days, still no response. Called the main number 11 times, went to voicemail every time. Finally got through and got given three numbers for different medical secretaries, two went straight to voicemail and one was disconnected. Called my insurance company back and got referred to a different hospital. Finally got a response from that October call in December. In that time I'd already had my initial appointment, tests and follow up appointments at the different hospital I got referred to. This kind of service is absolutely ridiculous from a private hospital. Admin staff need to be empowered to book appointments since the medical secretaries can't be bothered to answer their phones or email.
My partner went for an MRI on 7th Jan and is *still* waiting for the report to be returned to his insurance company. We have both called several times, only to be told they will look into it and get back to us. The team are very friendly, but perhaps to just get us off the call. How is this possible? Would not recommend unfortunately as waiting nearly 6 weeks for results when in pain is not on.
I cannot fault the clinical team they were super efficient, kind and helpful. BUT I would not choose to be treated there again! It is a 'pain in the neck' to park in the underground park it is so small. Reception were unhelpful and had no idea who I was, after 3 futile attempts I was found by a member of the clinical team as I was then late. There are no private rooms to speak with a Doctor after tests are completed! I had to finish getting dressed in an alcove!
Endless automated questions, then you get asked the same one again. After that you get aggressively loud hold music and every 4 seconds you get shouted at that all advisors are busy. Compared to the Cheltenham Nuffield that has no automated and answers immediately with a person. Absolutely pi5spoor can't hide behind the pandemic anymore BTW Don't care how good the doctors are, if you don't answer the phone you are useless. Especially with the horribly annoying hold music that is jarring and just reminds you you are on hold twenty times a minute. No one is that busy to leave me on hold for 19 minutes. Especially a hospital. If you are, hire some more staff. Not nearly good enough
This hospital must have the poorest care to greatest cost ratio of any in the country. Every single step of my experience with them has been dreadful – every. Single. One. Non-responsive by phone or email, appointments made last-minute at which my presence was demanded due to their oversight. Cool, indifferent attitude. Surgery cancelled several times, eventually didn't go ahead because surgeon didn't even READ my preadmission information properly, so waiting another 6 weeks. Poor disability awareness, nurses spoke to my partner and PA instead of to me consistently, and were surprised to learn I needed a hoist to transfer despite having told them this twice prior to admission. They've hassled me for payment and now won't give me a receipt. Why on earth would anybody pay for this? Standard of care, attitude and treatment are superior on the NHS. Save your money.
Staggeringly bad for a private hospital; initial general enquires through the web platform generated no response. After more chasing emails from me I get an unfriendly, terse, response from an administrator immediately flagging potential delays and with more contacts for me to chase. This would be rubbish even if enormous amounts of money were not being charged. With much more effort from my side than should be required I get an appointment and am told that "20 minutes is all AXA will pay for" according to AXA this is nonsense so this clearly reflects the Manor Hospital charging rate not the insurer. The consultant was arrogant, almost outrageously un-empathic, and my visit to him served no productive purpose whatsoever. I had a procedure here perhaps a decade ago and was wonderfully impressed, but, my goodness it's gone downhill. My honest feeling is that, if it were within London where competition is much much higher it would have long gone out of business. I was promised imaging results when available a very very standard request. More than ten days after they were available I have nothing an all emails and phone messages generate no response. Really quite staggeringly bad. A highly strained NHS service is far far better than this
Would have been a good experience - however, the parking was a nightmare. About 7 of us waiting and driving round a tiny underground car park for spaces. I tried to search for parking nearby, and even left at one point to look for local parking since Google was saying there was none. Tried calling the hospital to ask where to go, so I wasn't late. I was on hold for 20 mins and no one answered. Got lucky and got a space but I was so stressed by that point! Also super tight to get out because so many cars parked not in spaces so they could get to their appointments
Consultants are fine but just dreadful administration. No one answers the phone, emails receive no response despite repeated attempts. I had a test and am unable to get the results. My advice - if you have a blood pressure issue, don't deal with the Manor!
