Went for a scan. Arrived on foot, when requested, seen on time. Staff had perfect blend of clinical care and bed scan side manner to get the job done whilst ensuring you feel comfortable and happy. Out front there are 2 choices for food, good prices and warm enough temperature to eat in. Car park is limited, lots of buses and easy walk for those who can from much of Oxford. Hurrah for the NHS and free at point of care, funded by collective taxes for the good of the country.
I recently had a total hip replacement at the NOC and can't thank everyone enough! My Surgeon Mr Kendrick looked after me so well, and was outstanding, so lucky to have been under his care. Also Christof the Aenasthetist was amazing, and covered every thing. Patience, the theatre nurse was lovely too. I feel very fortunate to have been treated by everyone with kindness and care.
I was first referred to NOC in 2022 with debilitating spinal issues. Since then I've had numerous cancelled appointments and sent for test after test after test. 3-6 month wait between all tests and consultations. Further cancelled appointments. Absolutely zero care plan, zero pain management for over 3 years!! How is this acceptable? I was told I need surgery, then told to delay surgery. Lost on the system constantly. No follow up to any complaints. Even PALS is non-functional. The only saving grace is that the spinal admin team and the xray team are lovely. The actual care is atrocious or non-existent. This review doesn't even matter. They're funded by the NHS so will get money regardless of whether they are good or not. I'm so utterly disappointed.
Yesterday when attending the Spinal Clinic Outpatients the nurse at Corridor 3, Nurse Julie ? Ray was so very caring and helpful she certainly deserves a mention.nOn my last visit earlier in the year I found Reception at Outpatients Spinal Clinic quite shambolic and unprofessional with young nurses laughing, loud and generally unprofessional.nYesterday it was so noticeable how the Reception had improved and Nurse Ray was superb with everyone.nThe young man Jo, the Co-Ordinator looked extremely serious and I did mention to him a smile now and again makes people feel at ease on arrival as it’s first impressions.nI was in this similar role myself when working so notice and appreciate what dealing with the public is like.
My father was admitted for hip surgery, very quick process, surgeons superb, nurses very good but the OT and physio service is not up to standard. 4 weeks of little or no physio is not acceptable and then moved to a hub to pick up the pieces! Not good enough. Needs urgently looking at
