I cannot speak highly enough of John Radcliffe Hospital. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. The hospital features state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge technology, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care. The staff at John Radcliffe Hospital are truly exceptional. They are compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated to providing top-notch medical care. I always felt like I was in good hands and that my well-being was their top priority. One of the biggest benefits of John Radcliffe Hospital is the wide range of services they offer. Whether you need surgery, specialized medical treatment, or routine check-ups, they have you covered. The hospital is also a teaching hospital, which means that patients have access to the latest advancements in medical research and treatment. Overall, my experience at John Radcliffe Hospital was outstanding. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone in need of medical care. Thank you to the staff for their exceptional care and support.
The Eye Hospital staff are absolutely incredible! Friendly, efficient and caring. Put me at ease straight away. The hospital's west wing itself was clean and the toilets sparkling! Also lovely volunteers at the help desk and a good range of cafes / amenities. No one ever wants to be in a hospital but when you are it’s important to feel safe, cared for and that the place is sanitary which it was all three. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at the west wing from doctors, nurses, cleaners and volunteers as well as everyone else.
I would like to thank you for the care at the hospital in the cardiology department. Mega professional people, very empathetic. I would especially like to thank Ms. Beata and Ms. Monika. Of course, the rest of the staff as well. Thank you
The staff are amazing, super kind and professional. However, litter is a real issue outside. There are countless cigarette butts around the A&E entrance, despite the hospital's no-smoking policy which isn't enforced! I was there for an hour and saw people smoking right outside the door the whole time, with smoke coming in whenever the door opened. Worse, the children's A&E ventilation intake is close to this smoking area, causing smoke to enter the children's ward. This is unacceptable and feels like a third-world country. Management or those responsible shouldn't allow this to happen.
Awful experience in a&e. No-one in charge, lack of nurse responsible for my husband. Dr seen after 12 hrs on a trolley. Told dehydrated. Not surprising after 12 hrs without access to water. Get better treatment in a prison cell. Complete chaos. Whole village agrees with staying away from here.
John Radcliffe hospital did an amazing job of taking care of me. The staff are friendly and helpful nothing is too much bother. Which helps with recovery. The staff have regular meetings and handovers and it is run like clockwork. I don't live local to jR Hospital but the staff made sure my discharge was all ok . The staff are amazing I can not praise them enough other hospitals need to take a leaf out of this hospital's book .
It may have been Junior Doctors strike day but the A&E team were efficient and effective. Hats off to the whole team, nurses, porters, admin, doctors, X ray. Many thanks all round.
Expect long wait times for whatever you need to do in this hospital. Staff are also rude and would rather not be here themselves. Have had to come here multiple times for different scans on my shoulder. Each time having to wait 3+ hours for a scam that take 5 minutes and could have easily been done in the same day. I am now here again, arriving @ 7:30Am for my surgery. I have now been in the waiting room for hours not allowed to drink or eat since midnight. This is ridiculous. If I have a 7:30 appointment I expect to be seen at 7:30!. Not be told by rude staff I might have to wait all day. All I want is some water and they won't give it to me.... Edit: Post op. Want to express my thanks to the surgeons and nurses who looked after me during & after my surgery. Earlier in the day I was very frustrated at the wait time especially after having an appointment so early in the morning then being put in a waiting room without a bed for 5 hours. I've changed my review from 1 to 3 stars because I understand their is not much staff can do with the state if the NHS, but it is extremely frustrating when we pay taxes for a standard of service. I just felt staff could of done more to increase my comfort before the op. Anyways the day is done and I don't harbor any bad feeling as I know the staff are doing their best with the facilities they have. It's just a shame because the UK is a 1st world country and should be doing better to support there health care service.
I was only admitted last night, so I may need to update this at a later date. But as yet, the hospital is clean, tidy, new-ish, well run, nice food, large rooms and bathrooms, great big windows in the room - so loads of natural light, free WiFi, comfy beds, polite/knowledge doctors, great nurses, and helpful HCAs. One thing that does worry me a little, is the fact that a lot of the HCAs and nurses, are recruited from places such as SE Asia, Africa, and the Pacific. Now this isn't a problem, until it comes to patients and staff talking to one another and trying to understand what each other is saying. I'm saying this with hint of humour, as I love meeting people from different cultures. But, it does honestly get trying when having to continually having to repeat ones self, or asking a member of NHS staff too. Surely, all it needs, is for spoken English skills to be higher up the recruitment requirements? After all, I'd hate to leave here without my left arm, when all I came for is to have it set in a cast h for example! So far, I'm very impressed!
A great hospital with patient friendly staff and loads of facilities but it’s a struggle to find the car park space when you need it. However, if you have an early appointment staring at 8:40 am you have a better chance of finding a place. Also, the car park charge of £1:40 per hour is a bit steep.
