This is a fantastic gym. I used to be at David Lloyd and am really happy I have moved to Nuffield Central Croydon. Open plan gym with great staff, lovely pool and sauna and the classes are popular and well done. Would recommend this gym!

Good gym in middle of Croydon town centre.  Friendly staff and customers. Plenty of machines and equipment to use even during busy times. Enjoying the classes including Yoga. *** ONE YEAR LATER, after I wrote this review I drop the review to two stars, reason for this is that wifi is rubbish, I cannot connect to it most of the time. This morning I was the first person in and still could not get internet. Now I am planning to look elsewhere, pure gym has just open up and I will be tempted to go there and it's a lot cheaper.

Update September 2017.
Definitely improved, though I rarely use the showers and Jacuzzi often put of service. Fortunately staff are amazing and will do whatever they can to help you. Lots of new gym equipment and upgrades which is very encouraging. 3.5 stars :)

Previously owned by Virgin who failed to maintain standards prior to handover to Nuffield. Nuffield still haven't resolved the issues re: boilers (cold showers etc), closing down the pool/jacuzzi which members pay a premium for. Despite issues for over a year both owners have refused to compensate members for the inadequate facilities. This includes a week of closure due to a pipe bursting...which wasn't water but sewage. They cleaned it thoroughly but I always recommend people go elsewhere and for not join this gym. 2stars

Broken lockers, lot of equipment often out of order. After the gym has been rebranded, apart from changing the name and some stickers, they haven't fix anything but left it in the bad condition it was.

Visited Nuffield recently, only for the swimming / spa facilities. It was amazing.. we managed to get a free day trial through Sal. He was excellent, staff were exceptionally friendly. We were able to use the pool facilities, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The pool is beautiful.. Very well presented. The lighting compliments it's cosy feel. The Jacuzzi was 10/10. I actually fell asleep (caught on camera lol) honestly, would go back.. However, prices are a bit steep (£60 a month membership) which gets you both the gym facilities and swimming / spa facilities, you can go on a day pass admission at £15 a day but this isn't ideal for myself as I would only use the swimming facilities which wouldn't be cost effective.
Regardless, a very nice environment with friendly staff and a lot to offer. The deciding factor is how much you are willing to spend.
