Staff were very attentive and pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble. Some fixtures in need of attention, such as the non-working room safes in Rooms 321 and 323. Good value for money. Breakfasts good. Pet friendly - a bonus!

The staff make this a memorable experience. I booked a room in May, it wasn’t great, I know refurbishments we’re going on but had it not been for the exceptionally helpful staff, in particular Gary, (he goes above and beyond and nothing is too much trouble AND he really does remember you!) I might not have re-visited in October. Rooms have improved though but no fridge? and water from tap horrible!

Nice hotel and good value for money. But while the front of house staff were very helpful the kitchen was not well managed. In the early evening our orders for 2 children aged 4 and 1 were lost and were not delivered in the restaurant for 55 minutes, despite one of our party going down early specially to order the children's food.. And next morning although the restaurant was not busy the hot food trays were not replenished promptly and I had to leave without all the components of the hot breakfast I had paid for because the delays were just too long.and I had a deadline. By contrast, in the late evening when there were no other restaurant customers at all the food came promptly. Needs a new kitchen manager.

Enjoyed the use of the pool and the nicely made bed, that's it. Had the worst meal I have ever encountered in the restaurant and found my room to have tired decor and unclean looking carpet. Staff wise, there was a pleasant chap behind the bar but the rest of the staff seemed uninterested in my existence. The meal consisted of a taco shell filled with a vinegary obviously bought in sauce with a couple of prawns floating in it. Followed by a pulled pork sandwich that smelled like a sweaty arm pit and was inedible. I ordered a rocket salad with this, which consisted of a handful of rocket leaves, a couple of halves of a cherry tomato and a few shavings of some kind of synthetic tasting cheese for which I was charged an extra £4.00! The head waiter smirked when he asked me how my meal was and no wonder he found it funny. I doubt very much that this feedback will be used to improve services because it is damned obvious that no cares.

The room was nice. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. There are 3 improvements that would benefit the room- brighter lights, power sockets by the bed and a walk in shower like other Novotels I have used. The bar was a next to the front door and so was a bit chilly due to being exposed to the breeze everytime someone went in or out of the hotel. Overall I thought it was excellent value. I liked being able to walk to the Metro and the local shops
