My wife Evelyn had a cataract procedure yesterday. She would like to express her gratitude and thanks to everybody in that department. She very nervous about the procedure. All of the staff were extremely caring and kind and made her feel at ease. Big thank you to this very well run department.
My elderly father recently underwent emergency surgery at Northampton General Hospital for a perforated bowel with sepsis and peritonitis. The treatment and care he received was beyond exceptional! There are too many ‘stars’ in the staff complement to mention them individually. From the Hospital Manager who was in the car park and assisted my father then escorted him into the hospital, the portering staff, Mr Evans and team, the Stoma nurse's, physiotherapists, the nursing staff and domestic staff in the A&E, ICU and Willow Ward plus many others. We will always be grateful for their care, compassion, empathy, warmth and kindness shown not only to my father but also to his family. My father spent almost 3 weeks in Northampton before transferring to a rehab unit. During that time we observed several acts of kindness from staff helping visitors who could not find departments, those visitors who were distressed and much more. We have no hesitation in recommending this hospital.
From the moment I walked in all the staff were brilliant! They were happy , polite and very very professional. I spent time in the heart unit and Dryden ward having a heart procedure under the very capable hands of Dr Sharman.the wards were spotless the care given was second to none!nI have had private treatment at the three shires hospital and these guys at NGH exceeded that standard.the main thing that impressed me was all the staff were genuinely happy people and no requests were too much trouble.once again thank you all, and you should be proud of yourselves.
We came in with our daughter who had a minor injury. We were in and out in 3 hours, armed with some solid advice. The staff we spoke with were helpful, polite and obviously working hard.nnThe new pediatric a&e was much better than being bunged in with adult a&e patients, and we were helped in a reasonable time so overall, I was happy and thankful for the service received here, and I think it's a shame a lot of people seem to have had bad experiences here.
I've been monitored by the maxfax department for over four years due to pre cancerous cells on my tongue. Four weeks ago after a biopsy I was informed that I had cancer. I was booked in for an operation two weeks later. I am now home after a five day stay in hospital. I have to say that from start to finish my care has been second to none. From the consultant, registrars, student doctors, nurses, hospital assistants, meal service, tea lady, cleaners. Everybody was wonderful. I felt safe and well cared for. All my questions were answered. Nothing was too much trouble. The ward, which was Althorpe, was extremely clean. My only small complaint was the food. I didn't feel that somebody that could only drink food was catered for. But I was happy enough to have some brought in for me. This is our NHS at its best. I can't thank them enough.
