Nobu Berkeley St

Story

Located at 15 Berkeley Street in the heart of Mayfair, Nobu Berkeley ST is the
legendary institution's most ambitious site to date. Nobu Matsuhisa and executive chef
Mark Edwards have created a menu which includes the Nobu classic dishes as well as
many new items; some of which are cooked in a Japanese wood-burning oven. Designed
by celebrated interior designer David Collins and spread over two floors, Nobu Berkeley
ST houses a suitably glamorous 180-cover restaurant and stylish lounge bar. One of many
interesting aspects of the restaurant is its interactive Hibachi table, able to seat twelve.
Perfect for a celebration, the Hibachi table incorporates three grills upon which the
table’s specially trained staff will grill cuts of meat, fish and vegetables marinated in
various trademark sauces, a spectacle that is both entertaining and delicious.
'Nobu Unplugged', which has recently launched at Nobu Berkeley ST, is a series of
monthly performances showcasing emerging music talent. Riding on the back of Ed
Sheeran’s performance last year and other great gigs by Nina Nesbitt, Ryan Keane and
Bluey Robinson, the new music programme is a natural development for the popular
restaurant and lounge bar. Nobu Berkeley ST will nurture young talent by integrating a
programme of ongoing live performances while offering its guests a new dimension of
entertainment.

A Mayfair favourite and still consistently fantastic. The service is prompt, courteous and never overbearing. The food is worthy of the price, beautifully presented and well portioned. The atmosphere is typical, low lit, Mayfair trendy and the cocktail list extensive. Highly recommended
We had a wonderful lunch here, the restaurant is beautiful, staff are very friendly, food is delicious and came quickly. Of course prices are on the higher side but you are paying for top quality food. The tacos not pictured were very tasty but very tiny so do not expect a typical taco, the crispy rice was delicious and I would really recommend trying this with the spicy tuna topping. Sushi was great as usual.
The place has a fun and vibrant atmosphere. It could be exceptional, but unfortunately the dishes - while all beautifully presented - all too often fail to impress. They are tasty and nothing is really wrong with them, but at the price point involved and given the hype surrounding the place, you might hope for a finer experience for the palate. Still, good for a fun night out seems particularly popular with groups. Service was a little rushed too.
Great service and delicious food as you’d expect. Prices you’d also expect. Beautiful, classy and sleek decor in the bar area where I dined and a large terrace out front. I recommend the crispy rice with salmon and the chocolate sphere dessert “experience”.
Delicious tasting menu. The figs with glazed salmon was a perfect first course. The Nobu's black cod is a classic for a reason. It was not originally in the tasting menu but I asked to include and they did - but it came to a cost, a very tasteless soup at the end. Fish were fresh and tasty. Besides the fish, I had quail and king crab. The quail was very average, but the crab was outstanding. The soup at the end of the menu was supposed to be chilly hot, but was blend, tasteless. Totally unnecessary. The dessert was beautiful and creative. Unfortunately, after this tasting menu, I was still hungry, feeling that something was missing. And I've never felt this way after leaving Zuma's.
Very classy setting but mediocre taste. I have to say I am a little bit disappointed with this one. Being a huge fan of Japanese food and understand this is near Mayfair, but taste is really mediocre and portions are small. I don’t mind paying a bit more but the food quality doesn’t justify. Service and ambience are good but not excellent or super impressive. I won’t go again.
Every dish we ordered tasted good *Top picks* - Black cod miso, white fish sashimi, any bento box! The vegetarian bento box we ordered was a feast, making it extremely good value. The combination of sushi and ceviche was well delivered and the highlight of the meal was definitely the black cod miso. We opted for a sober sip with our lunch - the fuji juice guava, cinnamon and passion fruit and the sage & blueberry smoothie. The juice was forgettable but the smoothie had a distinct taste which is definitely worth a try. The decor is simplistic and can be a bit underwhelming compared to the other Mayfair marvels, but the food and service were on point. namobytes ~ little bytes of insight Half way through our meal we were asked for any last orders. If you're a late luncher, bear in mind that their lunch hours finish at 2:30pm on weekdays and 3pm on weekends!
Hadn't visited in a few years...food was great, just not as great as I remember it. Staff helpful though a little over attentive for my liking clearing and changing my plate for no reason while I was in the middle of using it, for example.
I had a lunch menu. The price for lunch is reasonable compared to dinner menu. The food very fresh. The service is very professional. Donburi was very delicious. Reservation is recommendable and easy to find the restaurant. The decoration is very modern style.
The quality of the food is amazing. Best sushi I have ever had. It was very fresh and very tasty. My favourite part was desserts; the mochi ice cream was unlike anything I have ever had before. The staff is very friendly and very polite. Would love to come back one day!
