Had afternoon tea here. It was ....OK. I've had much better and worse to be fair. I didn't feel it was value for money - everything was on the small side, and nothing was out of the ordinary, it was all rather plain and a bit dull. The scones were tasty at least, but I personally would have liked them to have been just a little bit bigger and had at least one with sultanas in it. The brownie bites and I really do emphasise the word "bites" were a bit dry and cakey. I could have made some mini sandwhiches at home, bought some sweet treats from my local supermarket and it would have tasted much better and been more substantial and better value for money. As lovely as the staff were at least, I can't say I'd want to go back again sorry.
The food was absolutely award winning!!! Flavours and presentation amazing, taste wonderful. I wouldn’t géstate to eat here again. Slightly lacking in atmosphere, there was only one other couple. The service was really outstanding. Very reasonably priced for such gorgeous food, too.
Christmas Afternoon Tea! Stay away! Firstly, I would like to express how disappointed I was at the quality and quantity of food served as part of the “Christmas afternoon tea”. It is by far the WORST afternoon tea I have ever experienced. There was nothing Christmassy about this afternoon tea at all and myself and my friend were left completely unsatisfied. To say that this afternoon tea experience is £22 per person is a complete JOKE! The finger sandwiches were stale and dry, and the desserts WOW, they were shocking! The desserts were a mouthful each per person, how can you call this an afternoon tea experience or a luxury experience?! I will not be returning and wouldn’t advise others to do this afternoon tea !
No.4 Clifton Village is a lovely restaurant located in an elegant Georgian building in the heart of Clifton Village. I went there last week with my friends for an afternoon tea and we loved it! The food was impressive: a selection of fresh sandwiches on the bottom tier, scones with clotted cream and jam in the middle and fruit tarts at the top. Unlimited tea/ filtered coffee were included in the price and you can also upgrade to a prosecco version. Lovely friendly staff - Tor, Tabby, Gracie and Emily were all very attentive. We didn’t feel rushed and they couldn’t have been more helpful. I would definitely book again.
For the area this place is bad but scoring it as average as its not that bad in the scheme of things. Needs speedier service and better executed dishes. They make the effort but falls short. I shall avoid in the future for sure as there are so many better places locally.
Lovely interior and friendly waitress. The aubergines were nice, but some of the other starters looked better. The turkey again not bad but but roast was better. The pana cotta was a bit flavourless. It needed some extra sauce or something. The chutney on the chase board was absolutely divine and probably the highlight of the meal. They also stocked a nice rhubarb Absolut vodka.
Fantastic gluten free afternoon tea available here. The scones were delicious!Food: 5/5
My daughter was married here on the weekend and No 4 The Village was an absolutely wonderful setting. The staff very much becoming friends, very quickly were amazingly welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. They were incredibly accommodating, extremely professional and quietly efficient without ever seeming to be noticeable - quite a feat to pull off. The food was excellent with everything timed to perfection - from setting up for the ceremony itself to changing everything speedily for the reception meal whilst the wedding photographs were taken outside. Just a phenomenal day with superb attention to detail. I could not speak more highly of everyone involved and my thanks goes out to all.
We were served by India she was very helpful, friendly, polite & welcoming she made us feel comfortable very good service. Nice atmosphere & setting, the food was absolutely fantastic could not fault it in anyway it was absolute delicious. Steak cooked to perfection. Had this on a groupon deal only thing I would say is if you do not get this on a deal it could become expensive for 2 people having a decent bottle of wine with say a starter & main that would be my only negative it could be a bit pricey other than that I would definitely recommend.
Do not buy a gift experience for afternoon tea. If prices are raised, the gift is not honoured and your guests are 'treated ' to the price increase. We were prepared to leave a generous service tip, which was subsequently reduced when presented with additional charges. SHOULD BE EXPLAINED TO ALL AT TIME OF BOOKING.
