Majority of the GP's are very helpful. The Practice Manager and admin team are very unhelpful, if not obstructive. Refused to send prescription to myself when caring for my terminally ill Father in Surrey advising me to register locally - unbelievable I know! I did a temp reg then had a GP consultation with unknown GP who had none of my health records but fortunately she had compassion and did my prescriptions based on my reporting of medication and dosage. How much time and money was wasted with that escapade!?! Most recently, letter from private consultation with a specialist was emailed and this too has been refused. I have just been in contact with the secretary of Doctor and they are sending a paper copy. Unbelievable, in the age of technology and efforts to be 'paper-light'. Thankfully, I'm moving...Good luck! Update a few days later. Despite a request for my monthly prescriptions and review of same booked one item was missing. Telephoned surgery only to be told that NO they cannot send prescription anywhere...last time see above it was outside Wales. Fortunately the pharmacy next door could fax the script to a local pharmacy where I am staying with my Mother...Thank God, once again for common sense and compassion. Only helpful receptionist was Rhian Thank you!. Practice manager not in work, office manager as helpful as a chocolate teapot and let's not mention the previous receptionist. I wouldn't mind if it were my error but it was their error in first instance. Once again ...glad I'm moving! This Practice needs a new PM as obviously the attitude of the establishment is led from the top...dealing with people who are I'll, unwell, incapacitated is not their forte.
Very grateful to have such committed compassionate sensible doctors on our doorstep. Yes, it is very busy, needs a bit of patience from everyone.
Absolutely disgusted! Booked a phone call appointment with doctor who rang me for 3 seconds then hung up twice in the same day meaning I had no time to answer the phone. I rang the reception on both occasions, the first I was told to wait, the second was told that sorry you missed both phone calls so you'll have to rebook. Appalled! And the laughable point is that the only way to make a complaint online is... well you can't - no email address only the surgery phone number or just walking in I guess. Did not think this would ever happen.
Simply couldn't give a damn. Tried ringing for appointment after 45 minutes waiting in a queue told to call back at 2pm however being 32nd in that queue could not afford to take any more time away from work. Went in person told to ring. Haven't visited Doc in over 2 years probably never will again. I strongly recommend seeking other surgery.
Always poor service. I have a long term health condition and no matter what I do, whether it is e-consult, phonecalls or visiting the reception desk in person getting an appointment here is near impossible. The staff are friendly enough but constantly give patients the run around telling you to call back at a specific time or date with the promise of an appointment, only to then give you the same message when you do call back. They just keep stringing patients along and often put the phone down or refuse to take an appointment request if you phone early to get an answer on time. I have been ill for years so often have bouts of illness and pain and sadly, the support needed for an ongoing issue like this isn't there. I do my best to manage my health condition myself as I know doctors aren't miracle workers and the nhs is very busy but when you can't even see one in a time of great need, when you're out of options, something is very wrong!
Had a months time to verify my medication but only decided to do so on the very last day before my prescription is meant to go to the pharmacy- clearly out of racism and pure spite for the patient. This isn't the first time I had issues with this GP and it is beyond tiring having to deal with them. Such behaviour is just disgusting and unacceptable.
Brilliant service from Newpark. Treated by Dr King and now Dr Thomas. Extremely attentive and you can tell they have been consulting with each other behind the scenes. Thanks to them I have managed to catch a genetic disorder early on which would have otherwise caused sizeable issues later on in life. And to others complaining on waiting times etc, just remember our government squandered billions over the last two years to their buddies with brand new PPE companies. This could have gone to services like this. Protest your government before your local GP, it's not their fault.
After waiting for the phone queue that is standard now for general practice everywhere, I was pleased to have a friendly interaction with the right questions asked and a helpful response. Thanks for looking after my dad today.
I have been with this surgery for more than 40 years and can honestly say that my family and myself have never been let down. We have always been treated with the utmost respect, care and consideration by all concerned. Thank you for the job you do….... it is greatly appreciated.
This review is for the procedures, not the staff, as I never manage to know them or felt like is in their power much. In my interaction with the Practice so far, I feel like there is no procedure, no follow up and you kind of bounce like a ball between what the doctor says when you are lucky to get an appointment and the front desk staff. Everything is thrown in a big bowl and is a matter of fingers closed if you are lucky. There is no follow up procedure, no new appointment procedure, no prescription procedure, no children procedure, ask for documents procedure etc. You call and endlessly wait to be dealed with and if you manage to resist a few good 20 min at least ,the answer is always the same: No more appointments, come back at 8:30 tomorrow or 2 pm, or fill the online form. The form online is not for children so...back on square one at 2 pm and next day at 8 and so long. This is no normality, a service to not have a procedure for different types of necessities. Is ridiculous, exhausting, frustrating and sometimes impossible to do as we have so manny other things to deal with on a daily bassis. I personally do not think that my manager is happy for me to be endlessly on the phone, and some of us are just 1 person in the family as a parent so no extra suport. I really do not feel like I want to pay taxes for that. I will not take the free service and I would rather preffer to have back the taxes allocated to this service and to go pay private only when I need. How it works the health system in this very moment it make sense even if is not idealy.
