About

The Museum Street Cafe has been producing vegetarian lunches in Ipswich since 2009.

Story

Our food is cooked on the premises and lunch is served between 12 and 2.30pm. The menu changes constantly, sometimes mid-service, depending on what's in season, on Nell's whims and on when we run out of a particular ingredient.

Our prices range from £4.50 for a bowl of soup, chunk of bread and butter, with a green salad on the side, to £7.30 for the more complicated dishes.

The food here is amazing, home made vegatarian and vegan food to die for. The beetroot and chocolate cake is next level and the vegan pasta...well you'd never know it was vegan. Price is a little on the expensive side but it's more than made up to with the attention to detail and amazing service, this place is a real treasure to Ipswich. Big props to the staff as well for being very friendly and accommodating.

The food and drink here is absolutely exquisite. I strongly recommend their Dhal, or Hummus and secretly their wide range of cakes too! Nice hot and cold drinks too. Staff are friendly and engaging, and willing to talk about the foods including recipes and advice.
Found the cafe by chance while looking for some lunch. Not immediately enticing from outside, but once in very friendly with a staff member who took me through the exclusively veggie and vegan menu. Really tasty, obviously freshly prepared food and very reasonably priced. Only sorry I couldn't stay for a cake!
Home-cooked style vegan food in Ipswich?! Too good to be true? See above. It’s how I’d cook if I had the time, skill and creativity to do so. The perfect lunchtime starts here followed by a trip to the arcade just around the corner. So many awesome options on offer I can’t even pick one for you- plus they seem to change their menu every few days... try everything. x

Great vegetarian food, nice homemade cakes. Friendly staff. It's a little more expensive than the chain restaurants, but all the food is home cooked in the cafe and I think it's family run. It has a slight hippy feel, but that could be me.
