What a little gem! Visiting the area and googled ‘dog friendly boat trips’ and the Museum came up. Booked a ticket online for both the museum and a boat trip. Run by volunteers, both the museum and the boat trip are testimony to their enthusiasm. Found the museum really interesting and the boat trip was a delight. Highly recommend a visit.
I recommend to buy tickets for a boat ride through the canals. Boat leaves 4 times per day, it lasts about 1 hour and it is also wheelchair accessible.
A great spot to visit as trumpeted by many others. Fully concur. A wealth of history both old and contemporary. The volunteer staff are a delight and very eager to help and pass on their accumulated knowledge.nConsidering the entry fee covers a whole year, the place is a must to return to.nThe only recommendation is to advance purchase a combined ticket to cover the boat trip if that is one of the key aims of a visit.nToday, revisited to make the boat trip on the splendid “Marsh Harrier”. An amazing experience for grandkids who were able to gain an experience on the water in an all electric boat. The trip was under the steerage of Steve, assisted by Lynda. They both gave excellent guidance and commentary as we progressed along, finding nearby Kingfishers, Geese, Ducks and Swans nesting. The weather provided amazing photographic opportunities along the way.nA delightful day out for both young and old.
Wonderful little gem tucked away in Stalham. Boat trip was lovely and very relaxing. Even saw 2 kingfishers. The museum is beautiful and informative, as are the people who work there.
A wonderful morning spent on the water on the steam powered Falcon, looking around the Wherry Albion which was visiting and exploring this gem of a museum - all powered by volunteers.nI learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed our time we spent nearly 4 hours on site with so many vessels and artefacts to look at and so much information to read.nThe entry price is £7 each well spent, and £8 each for a 50 minute broads tour was fabulous value on such a historic boat.nWe are so lucky to have volunteers who restore and look after the boats and share their time.
