Great place for families, joggers, dog walkers. The ruins of Murdock castle is a great place to explore. There's a cafe and play park too. The remains of an old zoo, and WW2 history! See our full video review on our experience under The Olive Tree Family on all social media platforms.
lovely park with lots of varied walks through different areas of woods , meadows and marshes , throw in 2 castles , a WW2 anti aircraft site with a view over Glasgow and a very decent visitor centre and this becomes a fab place for a wander
First time visit. Really enjoyed it. There are plenty of different walks. Lots to see and do. The dogs loved it. Visitor centre, garden centre and tearooms. A couple of castles and plenty of paths. Dog-friendliness: There are lots of different terrain and paths for the dogs to enjoy. Only a few places that the dogs need to be put on a lead.
Great place for a visit, with or without the kids. A bit of history, two castles, bbq place, a pond, a wee loch, nice cafe and another coffee shop....nice arts and craft shop.....
Great park, lovely walk. Big parking space for cars. Nice playing area for kids. Good size cafe. This is my first visit to this park and it was an enjoyable experience. Definitely recommend a visit Playground: Good play ground for all ages Restrooms: Clean and loads of Dog-friendliness: You can bring your dog
Great place to bring the family. Lovely walks and there a duck pond where the children can see the ducks swimming. There is also a play area for children which is well maintained. Next to the play area is a court yard where there is a gift shop & also a little shop to buy coffees cakes soup etc etc. Nice prices and lovely staff. Well worth a visit.
Very nice walk. For such a small park there is so much to see. There is a lake, a castle you can actually visit and climb to the top mind the opening times though, a bog and easy footpaths. The park is in autumn lovely. The walks can be muddy after a rain. So don't forget to bring your wellies. The castle is only rarely open. Parking can be a challenge at times. There is also a Visitor Centre where you can eat a snack and shop and find a toilet. There are also parking places. A lot of people are walking their dogs.
Beautiful walk, great for dogs and kids and two castle ruins thrown in for interest. Also gift shops and cafes, great day out and free. Restrooms: Restrooms near entrance but none elsewhere in large park Dog-friendliness: Great dog walking area
I love walking round the reservoir it's great to just clear your mind walking next to the water or walking thru the woodland paths day or nite there is lots to do . You can get all your in steps here. There is a tree in the middle where you can leave a note or ornament for a loved one that has passed away. The most beautiful thing imo.. Stop take a minute and read some of the words Dog-friendliness: Lots of woodland to take your dog or just walking on the paths.
Great for families, dog walkers and folk who just want to have a nice long walk. Beautiful Loch and visitor centre. The castle ruins are well worth a visit too ! Just a short drive north of Glasgow so very accessible:
