This is a massive park, excellent for long dog walks where they can be off lead enjoying plenty of grass. There are a lot of memorial benches and statues to see; the park is beautiful and peaceful. There are some steep gradients but you can stay low if you want to; there are some stunning views of nearby buildings if you do go a bit higher up. The park is massive, you could easily lose yourself for a couple of hours in here; there is also a skate park and a children’s play park.
A very beautiful park especially in spring. With bridges, statues, public bathrooms, Skatepark, beautiful fountains, beautiful flowers and close to the museum and the university. On Saturday and Sunday it is easy to park in the area.
Growing up in Glasgow I came here every weekend with my pals and now as a 100% fully grown and mature adult I do the same. The park is a prime area for scenic and long walks all year round, the lovely park changing with the season. In summer also it offers a beautiful spot for picnics and if you’re a kid a great opportunity to play tag in the playgrounds or skate in the skate park. All round my favourite park in Glasgow. Playground: There are not one, but two really cool playgrounds and in addition to that a state of the art playground. Restrooms: There are a set of semi decent public toilets. Dog-friendliness: Dogs are super welcome here. Picnic area: This park is probably the most picnic friendly park in Glasgow. There is large areas of open grass just begging for you to have a picnic on top of.
A terrific kids park and a great walk on a nice day. Loads for the younger kids like my granddaughter as well as a skate park and terrific grassy areas for a picnic if you can time the weather
A thoroughly enjoyable Sunday afternoon spent with my family, basking in the sunshine while enjoying our picnic. Location wise, the park sits south of Hillhead and Woodlands - a short walk from the OVO Hydro as well. We parked on one of the side streets near Kelvin Hall - plenty of spaces, even on a busy day pay attention to parking restrictions. We wandered along to the grassy area south of the Stewart Memorial Fountain and sat there for a while. The place was mobbed, but at no point did it defer from a friendly, family atmosphere. We done a loop around the grounds, taking in the park next to the ‘An Clachan Café’ and ending up at the amphitheatre, where we watched part of a ‘Pitch Perfect’ style gig. The whole area was massive and we only touched a fraction of it, in the two hours we were there. In the end, the heat was getting the better of the boys so we headed for the car to get home. Certainly a place we’d visit again, maybe next time picking a cooler day. Impressed by the surrounding eating establishments as well, so definitely keen to explore them!
Beautiful, one of the nations finest parks, in the middle of a great and grand city. Do not underestimate the luxury of this location. Understated and undersold, and that's a great thing, because this is like a little Stockholm, and the park like Kingsgarten, Wonderful
Absolutely wonderful park, in the heart of the West End. There's something for everyone here! From a slate park, children's play park through to a riverside meander - you can spend hours here. The park is clean and has toilet facilities. Love this place.
Lovely place to wander around. Nice walkways, lots of grass playgrounds, river with bridge and access to gallery and museum. Walkable from city. Good coffee stop with indoor and outdoor seating. Good selection of snacks and drinks. City prices. Big enough to spend an afternoon walking sitting, enjoying the trees. Playground: Good variety of playthings for younger and older children. Space to run and scoot. More than one. Adult seating with good visibility Dog-friendliness: Plenty of space and dog bins and sniffs. Picnic area: Seating around.
Kelvingrove park itself have very small playground area for kids, yes there is massive skating track and also you can enjoy walking beside the river .
It was a fantastic day with my 2 girls , the weather was nice and We managed to explore the park a wee bit
