Mr Fogg's Tavern

About

The tavern of the eccentric British explorer, Phileas J. Fogg, serving a plethora of pies, punches and grog!

Story

Revel in a joyous evening of merriment and frivolity at Mr Fogg’s Tavern! Passed onto Phileas Fogg by his late Aunt Gertrude, the establishment is run by her dear friend and housekeeper, Miss Fanny McGee. Nestled below the Gin Parlour, the Victorian-style tavern is a jovial spot for folks to indulge in real ales and delicious grub. Tuck into a bill of fare that boasts hearty pies, succulent roasts and refreshing punches, while you marvel at a ceiling adorned with Mr Fogg’s eccentric artefacts from all around the world. You can even join us once a week for a good old cockney singalong to live music! Open every day, eat and drink till your heart’s content amidst the lively hustle and bustle of Mr Fogg’s Tavern.

We were passing through and noticed the charming unique decoration. The idea was have a pint and continue on. We had great service at the bar that one pint became two and shortly three. We noticed someone enjoying a plate of fish and chips and it looked great. We had tried fish and chips somewhere else and we were greatly disappointed. Mr Fogg’s fish and chips totally redeemed our experience. It’s was crispy but lightly battered and thick white pieces of fish. The chips were thick and fresh.
I visited for a Sunday Roast and was thoroughly impressed! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were both friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, with perfectly cooked meats and all the classic trimmings. A special mention to the Pirate Cocktail—it’s an absolute must-try! ‍ A big shoutout to the barman for crafting such a memorable drink. Highly recommend!
We came for the Tom Carradine Sing Along. The crowd was international French, Turkisch, USA, Austrian we,.. We liked the cheerful time during the sing along. We ate marvellous Fish and Chips, had good Ale and Ciders. All in all a super experience for our first night during our stay.
Great but also expensive cocktails and a very lively atmosphere. We didn’t have much help from the people working there if we had to wait for a table or just sit. In the end, we just sat because everyone was doing so, and we got the menus. No explanations, no suggestions, no welcomes. It didn’t take much for the cocktail to arrive though which was nice.
Staff were fab very welcoming and friendly! It was my sisters birthday and when they heard us talking about it they gave us a gin shot and a birthday card! Fish Fryday was great and two of us had the sandwiches! Good size portions and we had a great time!Food: 4/5
Made reservation for drinks upstairs. All of the drinks were great. They told me that they couldn’t make me a certain drink because they were out of the ingredients but then a little later I saw them make my drink for another person sitting by me. Maybe it was a mix up! But other than that, everything was splendid.Food: 5/5
Any Mr Fogg’s is a feast for the eyes & senses. Love the different atmosphere of each establishment. This one does fantastic punch & pub food type fare. I loved the cosy feel of the place & all the decor dotted around with items even hanging from the ceiling.Food: 5/5
A fun pub, excellent theming inside with a background of 1930/40s music playing. Table service is available but you will be charged a service charge even if it’s just for drinks so you are better placing your order at the bar. The bar is quite small so a queue forms out of the door. Bar service is quite slow due to all the cocktail making. A selection of beers on daft but expensive at £7.50 for a pint. Overall a good place to have a few drinks as it’s quite unique and a different vibe to all the other options in the area.
Absolutely stunning pub on St Martin's Lane, the outside of the pubs covered in flowers, the quirky interior is amazing and the staff were all dressed as beer maids, what a wonderful place to grab a Guinness & the best selection of Gin & tonics. Highly recommend.Service: 5/5
Lovely pub with tones of character. Upstairs there is a gin parlour where you can sample 200 gins! We stayed downstairs sipping our ales by the bar. Music in the background is additional bonus to the atmosphere. If you are around Covent Garden, it is great to pop over.Service: 5/5
