Nice cosy hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast and some beautiful views. Could do with a little more water pressure from the shower, but I guess that just adds to the character of an old building.

I did some research to choose a place for lunch, and this was the place I settled on. There were three of us, an we were the *only" table there for lunch. When the server brought the water we had ordered and asked if we wanted it poured, my partner made a comment which was simply to indicate that he wanted to save her the trouble. She took it completely the wrong way and, what's more, launched into a tirade about how hard her job is because customers can be so impolite. In addition, she seems to have passed on her discontent to the receptionist, who was very curt and cold when it came time to pay the bill. So unprofessional. And on top of that, the food was only standard, not anything to write home about. I have just advised a friend who is planning to visit the area to avoid this place.

Lovely old-fashioned hotel, with log fire and an excellent restaurant. Friendly staff. Free internet at a good speed. In a charming village, great walks with lovely views. Steam train and ruined castle nearby.

Ample parking. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good bathroom and conference facilities. Lunch menu felt a little small. Which does provide the opportunity for better individual meals, however the desserts felt a little weak and were more like deconstructed desserts.
