General practice comes in for a lot of criticism, but I can safely say that this surgery has been exceptional in helping me and the kids. All the doctors are so caring and the nurses and health care assistants are helpful and kind. The admin staff are efficient and have to deal with so much. A special thanks to Dr Bahia for being so gentle and compassionate. I couldn’t ask for a better group of professionals to look after us.
My family have been with this surgery for over 30 years - it used to be one of the best. Ever since it changed hands a couple of years ago, it has been on a downward spiral. The only reason my parents stayed is for the brilliant Dr Sunny Bahia. Unfortunately however, the latest fiasco is the last straw for my mother. She was booked in for an ECG with the nurse and on turning up, was told the machine wasn't working. Fine, these things happen. She was later rebooked for another appointment, and when she turned up for that, the machine was still not working nor an alternative they tried. When she was rebooked for the 3rd attempt, she was sent to another surgery they have recently merged with another one and was told the nurse was not there to do the ECG. She has been booked in for a 4th attempt, but i won't be holding my breath. I understand GPs and the NHS overall are undergoing a lot of pressure at the moment, but that is no excuse for the total lack of communication and level of disorganisation at Moor Green Lane medical centre. It is beyond contempt.
This surgery is one of the worst practices in Birmingham. If you like to get better and have any results I would really recommend you to find another GB. Dr Aftab is not taking the patient seriously. Please please stay as far as you can from this surgery.
Since the take over by Dr Aftab, the surgery has gone to pot. The new receptionists are clueless and don't have an ounce of care for any patients. The good Doctors have left and it's almost impossible to get seen by your regular Doctor. They have also removed myself and 5 family members after being with the surgery for over 25 years because we are not in their "area" even though we have been in this address for 22 years. The so called "partners" did not want to discuss the complaint, I would strongly recommend you avoid this practice as the owners are clueless and do not prioritise your care as a patient. Even the 2/3 good Dr's are made to look bad by the management.
The best doctors I have ever had. Always go beyond and above for their patients, they have been our family doctors for 13 years, and they have excelled in every aspect to make sure we are well looked after. My wife was recently diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis and the diagnose only came to light when the doctors made the correct referrals and chased up with the hospitals, otherwise my wife was sent back form hospital numerous amount off times when she first had a foot drop without being diagnosed properly. We are truly grateful for everything our doctor has done for our family. Not enough credit or recognition is given to amazing doctors, we have had doctors in the past who don’t give appointments for months on end or listen to your problems they just work the time they get paid for, but not our doctors, every time we have called for an appointment they have always made sure that we are seen an if for some reason I e can’t get an appointment maybe because the appointments are fully booked then they call and see how they can help over the phone. Well done our amazing doctors who not only because they are duty bound to care for us, but because they actually care. Please don’t ever retire doctors like you are very rare to have.
I have found Moor Green Lane to an excellent medical centre . The surgery is very good at following up with referrals to other centres where I can get specialist help . The Doctors and Nurses are hardworking and sympathetic towards me . My own doctor .. Doctor Sunny Bahir has worked very hard to help me , I have complete confidence in him and I have found it easy to talk to him about my health issues, some of which have been quite personal . The receptionists are very helpful too and I find I get the appointments I need quite quickly . Thankyou Moor Green Lane Surgery . Chantal Kemp .
No empathy or sympathy towards patients. Absolutely rubbish medical centre with rude receptionist. I phoned at 08:00 in the morning waited 18 minutes asking to see if there was any chance of a call back from the doctors today and receptionist said no I tried asking again and she said where going around in a circle with another 6000 patients waiting to be answered to . Go to urgent care if needs be So rude and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend going hear . GPS not giving appointments then people are going A&E and waiting for hours because of no appointments and are desperate.
I've been with this GP centre for 2+ years and have been delighted with the service, reception always answer calls quickly, ability to get appointments and care provided by doctors and nurses. Yesterday I called for a flu jab appointment and was offered a same day visit - the nurse was great. In contrast, I was with another local GP in Moseley for 20+ years and Moor Green is vastly better. Recommended.
very disappointed and angry. called in and was refused an appointment for my daughter last Thursday. over the weekend her state deteriorated and now we a looking at very long recovery, she possibly has a pneumonia by now. poorly qualified reception staff, no compassion, many cases of lost blood test results over the years. other surgeries around aren't much better unfortunately. the only way out is to introduce penalties for negligence!
I love my doctor surgery they have some realy lovely doctors, especially Dr Pailing and Dr aftab he is so kind hearted and genuine. A real caring man reminds me of what I think old fashioned family and doctors where like. So a coma dating always goes out of his way and really cares. The reception staff are so lovely too always helpful polite and friendly which is rare for medical receptionists.
