Lovely large old pub on the river with a big car park. Interior looks great and the staff are very welcoming. We didn't eat but the drinks selection was good and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend. I'll amend to 5 stars when we go back and eat as the menu looked good!
Great to be back on this occasion! The Mill was very clean and tidy. The food, although it was only fish and chips gluten free I may add but they were well presented and tasted lovely! The cider was Ashton press and it went down rather well! We will definitely be back!
It was pretty busy when we got here on a Sunday but they still found us a table and we had an excellent Sunday roast. If we were to come back in summer, I think we'd absolutely love the garden!
Had an absolutely BANGING burger. Smoked cheese rarebit and bacon jam. Flavour heaven. Excellent service. Would recommend.
Sunday Lunch after a good frosty hike. Been here a few times and they've NEVER YET failed to fit us in. The roast lamb was decent with multiple veg your 5-a-day all in one and the red cabbage is really quite special and a good portion. The truly amazing thing, though, was the speed with which it arrived. We barely had time to wash our hands before it was there. Literally! Followed up with the Poached Pear in the photo. Very nicely different. p.s. It's also the place that Royal Blue originated, apparently. Check it out.
Really lovely place this. Seems to have been recently done out. We needed a larger table to accommodate all of us on arrival and the staff happily moved things around to allow that to happen. Menu was good and we had small plates to mains between us and everyone enjoyed what they ate. Service was with a smile and joke and overall a lovely experience. There is a decent carpark and outdoor seating also here. Worth a visit.
A good gastropub style lunch, well prepared, cooked, and presented. A nice selection of seasonal ingredients. The starters were imaginative and tasty, the vegetables cooked well, and the steak and slow cooked ox cheek were both delicious. My only criticism of the cuisine was that the tart was rather soggy in the pastry department. The staff were the appropriate level of informal and friendly and the building is historically interesting and decorated well. The music was an odd choice, but you can't please everyone!
Very lovely restaurant in a beautiful location. The food was very good and it wasn't a long wait at all for a Sunday. One small issue, my meal was forgotten, so my whole table had started eating and we had to re-request mine. Otherwise very good service, very good location and a lovely place to eat.
It's so lovely to see smaller plates and cheaper options always available here. And the quality and choice of them is great too. However, the main menu was very limited having only one vegetarian option, a burger, and start from steaks, very few meat offerings too. Vegetarian options: Only one which isn't enough
Found this place on a chance fluke in search of a place to stop for an hour. It is awesome. Greta drinks selection, awesome food and they have the best basement for kids: snooker, board games and TV!! We also got a nice tour of the wheel and mill with explanation about its history! Awesomesauce!!
