Great Food, lovely atmosphere, what a great place to be with friends. We had a lovely catch up with friends here today. Shame we are not closer to call it our local, but intended to be back next time we catch up with old friends. Did I mention that the food and service was excellent.
Wow. What a place. 6 of us arrived for lunch before heading to our lodge for the weekend for a girlie weekend. The new manager was absolutely one of the nicest guys we have met. Couldn't have been more helpful. He went out of his way to help us!!! The lunch was delicious. He extended lunch for us for few mins as a couple of us were running late. He was fantastic all afternoon. I love this pub and wished I lived nearby as I would be a regular. We were recommended to visit and we will now share too. You have a gorgeous pub in a gorgeous place and to top it off the new manager is a diamond. We will be returning to bath and 100% be coming back to you. Thanks again from the Surrey girls
Lovely lunch. Booked a table for 1pm on Saturday. Service was great .. attentive and friendly. Menu was small but had lots of choices. We were able to order smaller portions for those with a smaller appetite. Portions were generous and prices very reasonable. Food was delicious and well presented. Have to say the refurbishment is wonderful. The place feels contemporary with a traditional twist. All in all a very enjoyable lunch. Definitely recommend and will go again.
The pub was very inviting with its Christmas decorations and wood stove burning. It was however slightly chilly where we sat. The atmosphere was very friendly and the service was quick and efficient. The menu was quite limited and both my husband and I had food from.the specials board . The food was staple pub grub, perfectly adequate but not 'wow'.
We popped on for a "ladies who lunch" lunch. Large car park and entrance. Good first impression short walk down corridor and through a couple of smaller seating areas to the bar with a nice lit log burner in one of them. Medium size bar good selection of beers and spirits etc. Very friendly and helpful staff. Small menu but covers "something for everyone". We had starters of a prawn cocktail and creamy garlic mushrooms, both were lovely and right amount. We then both had the chicken curry as a main which was tasty although a larger poppadum would of been nice, there was certainly plenty of chicken! I had icecream for dessert and my friend had the white chocolate torte and said it was delicious. We ate in the bar area but there is also a large restaurant and a large garden area outside as well. Bathroom facilities were excellent very clean and not too cramped! Overall I really would recommend a visit.
We had a lovely meal here one Saturday afternoon. It’s clear a lot of blood, sweat and tears and money, probably! has been expended getting this place into shape. The interior is lovely; warm, cosy, clean and countrified; everything you’d want from a village boozer. The food is very competitively priced and of excellent quality. Portion sizes were generous, even for the kiddies menu. We will definitely be back again. Well done, team, keep up the good work!
Beautiful pub, very well looked after. Food was amazing, and Eve and Isobel were just excellent, had such a nice evening and they both made us feel very welcome, and gave excellent service. Hopefully we will be back with the kids for an anniversary in the future.Service: 5/5
It's a little way out from Frome, but found easily enough. Warm and inviting. Starting to open up for Sunday lunches which will be very good. Recommend.
Quality pub in a lovely Somerset village with beautiful views, wonderful local people, great food and simply the best bar staff ! Rooms: Lovely rooms Walkability: Loads of gorgeous walks and cycling
What an absolutely wonderful place. Popped out to have a meal this evening and the food was fantastic the onion rings are out of this world. Topping that though was the lovely staff who made us feel so welcome, and the lovely regulars who we had a great time chatting to. Will definitely be returning very soon. Thank you all for such a lovely evening xx
