Story

This imposing 16th century Castle has evolved into a traditional welcoming Hotel, Conference & Wedding Venue. Located just 35 minutes (17 miles) south of Edinburgh on the edge of the Scottish Borders. The lovely town of Peebles, which sits on the banks of the celebrated River Tweed, is only a 10-minute drive away.

Explore the many bike and forest walking routes around Glentress, visit the grand Traquair House or discover the Great Polish Map located in the 25 acres surrounding the hotel. Roslyn Chapel and the Go Ape treetop adventure course are located only a short drive from the castle estate.

Barony Castle Hotel offers 72 bedrooms featuring single and double as well as family Rooms, Privilege Rooms and Junior & Superior Suites. The welcoming bedrooms offer all home comforts, a child friendly environment and dogs are allowed in a limited amount of bedrooms. Every room is unique with differing views of the surrounding castle estate, garden and glen.
