Not to mention our huge, hand-decorated cakes and unrivalled baked puddings. Food is value for money. You can get a"mountains" worth of food for less than a tenner. The facilities are good too. Very family friendly with an indoor and outdoor play area. Good array of desserts as well, a decent cake and ice cream selection. - @steelcityhunger insta
Today the pub was packed. There was queues to be seated, queues to order food and queues for the carvery. Luckily I ordered smothered chicken which was brought to the table. However over 30 minutes wait for both mains and for pudding to arrive. I had to ask the waitress twice to find out where our food was. They seem to be short staffed. The food was lovely though. A large car park. An indoor and outdoor children's play area. The toilets are reasonably clean. Prices are reasonable too. There is a section of the pub reserved for adults only.
Beautiful food, lady behind the bar went above and beyond to help us. We were rushing due to catching a train and my daughter needed her phone for the ticket and had very low battery but she helped us charge it and accommodated us on our options. Nice friendly pub. Definitely worth a visit. It was recommended to us by a family member in Sheffield. We were travelling from Nottingham
Not been for a while & sadly very disappointed on this visit. While deciding what to have to eat went to bar to get drinks looking at the carvery on the way only to see the chef scraping the mash potato out with his hand! No gloves! Definitely put me & my partner off the carvery. There were a maybe 4/5 others who saw this & commented about it too. I ordered off the menu a combo my partner decided on mix grill. The chicken breast was lovely on mine but fillets over cooked. My partner he said chicken was lovely but the steak was very tough & didn’t eat half of it the sausage tasted like a hot dog chips tasted like cooked gone cold n half warmed up. Needless to say we won’t return here. We have eaten in a few Greene King/Farmhouse Inns and they have been lovely meals. Was it a bad day for them here I don’t know.
Usually don't complain but today we was at the front of the carvery queue. And there was an elderly lady stood over all the vegetables coughing and spluttering for over 15 mins before the carvery opened. Stayed away from most of the veg and properly put us off our dinner. Cake away good as always.
I don’t complain about places usually but today was a bad experience. The food took 35 minutes to arrive on the least busiest time. I’ve had quicker service on a full Sunday lunchtime. I thought I’d have something quick & how wrong I was. Full English all day breakfast was ordered & everything was over cooked. Sad really because I do like this place usually.
Probably the worst place to eat in Sheffield. We used to love coming to Meadow Farm as a family but now we dread family occasions planned here. Table staff walk round with a face like thunder, can really really tell they hate their jobs. Kids were playing near the table on the play area side and the girl that came down with a trolly just stood and looked at my two year old niece, and didn’t say a word, waiting for her to move instead of going round her. We understand it gets busy and they’re trying to do their job but maybe you should think about hiring some kid friendly staff. The only decent member of staff was one of the lads on the bar, not sure his name but he had a lip piercing and he was always friendly and very helpful, perhaps getting him to teach the other staff about customer service would be beneficial. When the food came out it was less than disappointing. We had to send two meals back. Do NOT order burgers, the way they’re cooked and presented is unacceptable. The burger fills half of the burger buns as they obviously shrink when cooked. They’re burnt and dry. No effort at all is put into making the meals. After the meals were taking away they offered to replace it with another meal. However everyone had already finished eating and there was no show of my replacement meal. Who wants to eat on their own when the rest of the family have finished theirs? We cancelled the replacement meal and got a refund. After the man at the bar had told the kitchen to cancel the second choice the chef then came out to have a nosey to see who had ‘messed’ them about. If he took the time and effort to make sure the first choice of meals were up to standard rather than coming out to see who had cancelled their order maybe food wouldn’t be wasted and refunds wouldn’t have to be given out. Management couldn’t care less. Improvements and training definitely needed to get this back to the standards it used to have.
Such a lovely pub for the family. Nice little play area for the kids inside and outdoors. Brilliant food, staff are really friendly. Especially Kirsty who always goes out of her way to help you!
A very spacious pub/restaurant. Lots of space between the tables which is unusual and appreciated. Carvery and full menu available. The food was good and not expensive. Will definitely revisit.
Went for breakfast on 7/11/22 not very welcoming when arrived, not explained how the breakfast works and that we needed to pay before hand. Not good how all tables are already have reserved signs on for Christmas when they have breakfast running before hand I appreciate that it's a busy time of year for Christmas parties but left walking around trying to find a table before rudely been told we need to be gone by 12. Tea isn't refillable on the breakfast buffet just be aware but coffee is. The food was bland and over cooked for most of it. Asked for toast and told it would be fetched across to our table not to wait at cavery area and never recieved it. Throughout the meal we were not asked once if everything was alright. Overall not the best place for a breakfast.
