Went for Sunday lunch today, with family and friends. Some had the Sunday lunch and some had burgers/butter chicken. Everyone commented on how well cooked and presented the food was. I had the Sunday roast chicken and it was absolutely delicious. It came with a variety of fresh vegetables, which were cooked to perfection. Well done guys...best Sunday lunch I've eaten, from a local pub, for a long-time.
Not great. Staff not particularly friendly. Waiter knew absolutely nothing of the menu or prices. The food was reasonable but to offer tinned fruit cocktail crumble for £6 was a total mistake. The plates were also straight out of the oven and dangerously hot! The Valentines menu at £50 was extremely poor quality. One choice of starter, one choice of dessert of which I liked neither and the steak they advertised came with nothing more than chips and a tomato! Where were the things like salad, peas, onion rings, choice of steak sauces? Not a place you would go to twice I'm afraid.
Beautiful Sunday roast. The lamb was incredibly tasty and 5 of us ate for under £100. Attentive service and an overall superb experience. It's also a very pretty pub. Recommended.
Lovely food - Sunday roast and lamb shank followed by dessert and then back on Monday evening for a big family group meal. All perfectly cooked and served together - well organised. Would recommend.
Inside the pub is lovely but there were workmen drilling and making a lot of noise. The staff are polite at times but made the experience feel rushed and slightly pestered. One meal was ordered but didn't arrive so had to be redone and when it arrived it wasn't hot They messed the bill up on three occasions!
Had the burger and chips and a pint of Belgium Blue. Delicious both food and drink. Friendly staff, warm comfortable pub.
Always a wonderful experience at the Shoulder of Mutton I went for the delicious penne arrabiata today, minus the garlic ciabatta, but added grilled chicken. Absolute feast!
It was the first pub I've been after lock down and it was great. There were not many people as one can expect. Real ales are served here and excellent home made food. A good choice of wines as well. One way system - yes, but it is Okay and not always works. It is possible to sit inside even with dogs or outside. Overall, a nice relaxing pub with great food.
The grilled chicken salad from the early bird menu is a must try - delicious! Love The Shoulder Of Mutton - great cosy pub and restaurant with the warmest of welcomes and outstanding menu
Food was exceptional. Staff could have been friendlier! Definitely felt like we were unwanted visitors in a local pub.
